LEC 'club stand'

Postby dapinky » Tue 11.09.2018, 15:02

Okay, as promised, I'm now trying to organise this a bit more and adding seperate topics for each thing, so lists can remain a little more organised....

LEC are being allocated 20 tickets to gain entry to the event (each for a car + 2 occupants), and also a grass 'space' to park up to 20 cars. Due to the fact that some people have a choice of Lotus' to drive, and may not be bringing their Elan, by being on THIS list it merely means that you'd like to be able to park on "our" grass (which will be restricted to M100s to comply with the spirit of LEC and the event as a whole). There is a seperate thread for those who want an entry ticket and dependent on numbers, we may even be able to squeeze an extra car or two in on the day..... but do not take that as gospel until we know what is happening.

I know that there is a 'general' list, so i am taking my initial information from that at this stage.

In order to formalise this a bit, I think that it is only right to go with the information I have, and if anyone else wishes to join the list, feel free, but once we get to 20 CONFIRMED attendees, the remainder will be considered to be 'stand-by' who hope for a non-attendance and/or breakdown on the way, or for a slightly larger than expected patch of grass (or movable posts  )

I am not going to get into the first 20 who confirm, as opposed to those further up the original list who confirm later this evening - far too hard to justify, so i am listing the top 20 to date, and will hope to get confirmation of attendance within a suitable time frame.

I don't like to make definite cut-off times, but think that it is reasonable to hope that the people listed are able to confirm their attendance within 7 days....so I'm calling the cut-off at 1900hrs (BST) on Tuesday 18th September. Should I not have a definite "Yes, I'll be there, and would like to be parked near to the rain shelter and kettle" by that time, then the names will be bumped down the list to a "stand-by" area.

That way, we will be maximising the oportunity to all of our members.... there is little more annoying than ending up with spare display space for an exclusive event which is very over-subscribed, when others are parking in the general car park area.

I appreciate that all of this relies on good spirited community nature - and am thankful that on LEC we have always had pleanty of that knocking about, and see no difference here.

Anyone on the list who has not arrived by the time we are setting up (or made a seperate agreement) will potentially forfeit their 'space' dependant on whether it is feasible to rearrange cars once the event is actually 'open'.

The club stand list:- {edited to include those who I accidentally removed from the list as having got a ticket elsewhere and i cut and pasted without reading my own instructions!!!!!}

Dave,
I’ll be there, and if I remember I’ll bring shortbread (I presume that producing a bottle of malt would be frowned upon). If plans for the stand get amended to incorporate a tasteful arrangement of fewer cars, I won’t jump up and down about being in general Lotus parking. But you won’t get the shortbread.

John,

If things get reduced, I'll be in the car park as well....... but I'll also have the kettle etc with me...... swap a cuppa for a shortbread?????

Hi Dave,

Confirming attendance, but I'll drop down to overflow car-park, just happy to be going. Will you update the list periodically or do we paste an updated one?

I will be there, subject to ticket allocation, but happy with overflow car park as my time on site may be limited.

Kens, (Ken S, and Ken Read)

thanks for the kind offer, but at this stage I'm going to just keep the lists as they stand, and once next week arrives any non-confirmed people will be shifted around up and down lists.... this is the fairest way i can think of to do it.

I'll try to just keep a single 'master list' on the top thread for ease of reference - and edit it as often as necessary (Ken R - I've also listed you as confirmed on the ticket list).

In a bid to tidy this up a bit, I am now in a position to 'close' this thread, and merge all information to the 'LEC tickets' thread......

......there will now be a single list on that thread to show who is getting a LEC golden ticket (even if it's green!) for their car, plus 2 'person' tickets, and parking on the LEC area.

I will continue to monitor things and if anyone drops out, wishes to attend or otherwise things change materially, then I will update the top thread of the page accordingly.
