LEC club stand / tickets

Postby dapinky » Tue 11.09.2018, 14:40

Okay, as promised, I'm now a little more organised....

LEC are being allocated 20 GREEN car passes to gain entry to the event, 40 'person' tickets and also a grass 'space' to park up to 20 cars.

.... there is nothing more annoying than ending up with spare tickets for an exclusive event which is very over-subscribed, when others are unable to risk attending without a ticket allocation.

For the avoidance of doubt, if anyone fails to turn up on the day, and has had a ticket posted to them, they may find that they will be asked for the return of the unused ticket after the event so we can show that "we" are compliant with the regulations imposed upon us by TLF (on behalf of Lotus Cars PLC).

I appreciate that all of this relies on good spirited community nature - and am thankful that on LEC we have always had pleanty of that knocking about, and see no difference here.

I would expect that the great majority of people will be collecting their tickets in person from Trevor B on the Friday evening at Dunston hall, or Saturday morning at the same location prior to leaving as a convoy to the factory (I'll be there Fri & Sat as well, but Trev is the "LEC golden ticket holder").

Anyone on the list who has not collected their ticket by the time we are ready to go [0800 sharp] (or made a sepearte agreement) will forfeit their 'space' and anyone standing around looking hopeful will receive a nice present.

The composite LEC list:-

1. Trevor B (with a RED sticker to go on the 'Lotus Cars' stand)
2. Dapinky
3. Alan E
4. Kathryn
5. Rice crispy
6. Chris P
7. Clemo
8. Spud
9. El abuelo (Geoff)
10. SimonW
11. RonR
12. Steve A
13. John W
14. Ken S - possibly not attending due to vehicle issues.....
15. Tuga2112 (Joao) (pass and tickets posted)
16. LFM (Phil)
17. Readit (Ken) (pass and tickets posted)
18. Roy666 (Mike)
19. Peter Hill
20. Simon_P
21. TB10 (John)

Pinky - I've confirmed my attendance by editing your first post in this thread but none of the other threads, as I wouldn't want to mess up your fine work. Ill let you do all that now.

Right, as the goalposts are constanly being shifted by Lotus Cars PLC.....

...... we must bear in mind that Lotus are an active business, operating from privately-owned premises..... as such, THEY MAKE THE RULES.

There are different coloured car passes being issued depending on whether you are on a club stand, or general parking. They are saying that without the corect coloured sticker, you won't even get close to the gates, let alone onto site.

To that end, the above listed 20 persons are considered to be 'LEC stand' attendances, and will require a GREEN sticker.

Whilst I fully appreciate that some on the list have secured a YELLOW sticker from lotus70.com - that won't get you to the right bit of the site for the club displays.

I know that I had previously stated that i was happy to stand at the gates to give out stickers to late-comers, it now appears that it may be a fair walk from where we are setting up to where the passes are checked by the marshalling/parking staff. I don't want to be spending half of my day trying to find people who have been re-directed (as I'd like to be able to enjoy the day like the rest of the punters).

Therefore, I think that it is necessary that people take responsibility for their own entry arrangements.

"We" will be at Dunston Hall on the Friday evening for the BBQ, and again meeting at Dunston to drive to the factory on the Saturday morning LEAVING AT 0800 HRS.

Anyone who is unable to collect their ticket at either of these points will need to sort something out beforehand...... I would suggest that the easiest way is to send Trevor B a stamped addressed envelope so he can pop them into a postbox to you.

This will only be for a few of you, but please help it all to go a little easier on the day by helping us out this way....

..... we will assume that anyone who hasn't made contact with Trevor, or collected from him on the morning of departure, is a "no-show" and their space may be forfeited. (Obviously, we realise that there is always a good excuse for turning up late, with British Roads, traffic, broken cars and family emergencies etc - so I am still happy to walk up Potash Lane with tickets to help out if needed..... but a reason of 'I got drunk and overslept the alarm' won't get much sympathy.)

I can confirm that I have received 20 GREEN car passes and 40 entry tickets. I shall be at the BBQ Friday night Dunston Hall and also joining
the convoy from Dunston Hall Saturday morning. Ideally that would be the best opportunity to hand over car passes and tickets. Now that we have a confirmed
list I will put everyones tickets/car passes in an envelope with their name on. If there is anyone that would prefer me to post then please pm your address and I
will get it to you 1st class. Don't worry about sending me self addressed envelope it could delay the delivery. But there is nothing like getting it personally in your
hand as the post may be delayed and I can't take responsibility for non-delivery despite my honest actions.etc etc.

If anyone has received yellow pass and tickets from Lotus70 and are now getting LEC allocation I suggest you advertise them on TLF so
someone who has been unable to get a ticket can take advantage.

I also have a spare seat as Lyn won't be attending the festival so if you know of anyone who needs a seat then let me know otherwise I will also advertise that
on TLF.

Any questions pm me.

Hi Dave,
Due to some uncertainty if my car will be back together in time, currently with unresolved steering rack an pump issues, please can you drop me off the LEC stand list. I have a yellow lotus70 sticker, so it may in fact help simplify the mix of ticket colours on the stand. Hope I can get a working car in time but looking more doubtful. (I have put a post on one of the other Hethel threads, but looks like this is the main stand list) Thanks.

Trevor.

PM sent with my address. (just in the event your inbox is full)
i would love to collect the tickets personally but its not practical for me to arrive at such early time.
I would have taken advantage of phill's offer but i have missplaced my camping gear so, no longer an option (i am not really the camping type anyway).

Due to the way in which this has worked out for numbers, and parking areas, and everything else.....

.... there now appears to be a couple of 'spare' tickets/passes in the pot.

(Trevor has received an extra RED pass for an Elan to go on the 'Lotus cars - one of every model' stand. Also, those who have already got a YELLOW sticker but are on the list for a GREEN sticker may be able to pass the unused one to someone else)

Whilst the GREEN ones need to be limited to someone who is arriving in an M100, the YELLOW ones can be used by any model of Lotus - so there is some flexibility.

It isn't up to me to decide who can have any 'duplicate' stickers, as it is down to the individual....... but, if anyone is in a position that they are now able to attend, then it is possible that you can be accomodated if you shout up on here or on the spare ticket thread. There should be enough 'solo' drivers attending to either offer a passenger ride, or a couple of tickets to go with the 'spare' stickers.....

.... so it isn't (yet) too late.

However, in the spirit of the event (and the way we got our tickets), it may well be that the extras will go back to Bibs to get other TLF member (in whatever Lotus they drive) into the event - so be quick, or risk losing out.

Graham,

I'm staying at Mangreen Country Hotel - but will be heading to Dunston Hall Saturday morning to RV for the drive to the Factory.

If you aren't sure where you're stopping, it may be best to meet at Dunston Hall before the 0800 departure....... but if you are somewhere nearby, I can pick you up on the way.

Just to confirm ... I aim to arrive at Dunston Hall 07:30 to 07:45 Saturday to collect my tickets from Trev B & join the convoy.
(I'll probably come in the Collapso SE if anybody is so OCD they want to organise colours .. )

I will also have an empty passenger seat & ticket available if any LEC members want to reserve a ride into the factory before I post it on the TLF thread ...

suggest you just reply here ..

Trevor.

2 tickets and 1 green sticker arrived this morning.
I assume the green sticker to be the car pass.

Thanks, and I'll see you all Saturday.

Ref spare seat. I am unsure if I'll be bringing a friend or possibly my mother (she is also into cars) so, I won't be able to save a seat for a stranger until I get confirmation of either wants to join me.

Just in case anyone was worrying about it, the stand will have the usual facilities.......

..... I'll bring stove/kettle/teabags/sugar/coffee/milk/teaspoons (and John O may also remember his stove and kettle to keep up with demand).

I'll also have a couple of chairs and mugs.

Please remember to put a chair and a mug in the boot of your car if you wish to sit down and have a brew - otherwise the '3-second rule' will apply to vacant chairs and swilled-out mugs :D
