Tigerdog when you under take the repair of the butterfly slider....

you don't have to go into the fore and aft sliders to get the rollers out. It's a big job that doesn't really need to be done...

Just checking my stripped doors and the rollers are missing from within the sliders

I do have some fitted to the next door to be stripped, but I'm not due to strip it for a good 6 months.

I can strip this if there is a real need as it's sat in the shed.

I believe mine will be a "simple" remove/replace of the butterfly, as this window was moving freely up and down without sticking. I'll clean things and lube what I can reach whilst inside but don't really want to strip the whole mess if I don't have to. Follow my fun on Smaug's window thread so we don't hijack this one. I see this thread is nearly 9 years old, I hope it’s OK to resurrect it.

My driver’s door window is giving trouble. It’s trailing at the rear edge and won’t reach the top. I have stripped out the window, the regulator and the guide channels for a good clean and inspection. I notice that my spacer tubes have flat spots and could do with replacing.

Has anybody managed to clone these things and if so, what’s the best material to use. Maybe somebody is reproducing them for sale?

I don't like delrin (suggested by others elsewhere) as it is hygroscopic and will swell a bit once if gets wet. It also stays wet so might start rusting the channel if it sits at the same place a lot...

Geoff's 9/32 PTFE (next post) is a good fit.
