I will leave it to the powers that be this year in case it conflicts with any special things happening
clemo wrote:If i could tell you what is going on behind the scenes ... oh my ..

Saltire - would it be possible to let you in on it and have a bit of your local knowledge ? Pm'd.

However, I fully intend to be at the annual cider, beer, sausage and banger festival at The Smoking Dug in Malmesbury on the Friday. No doubt with Muley, LotusflashernanPhiil et al .........as my trusted wingmen

I’m sure I don’t qualify as a “power that be”; I’m just a recent incomer :D Although I do happen to be the LEC bod on the spot (LECBOT??)

Happy to advise on accommodation if required - just let me know

I assume that me and Clemo qualify as "et al"......cos we'll be there.

The curry *should* be at the 'usual' curry house - but nearer the time we'll see how the numbers stack up and probably do a bit of a 'pre order' to keep it simple. I know that they have accomodated us in the past, but if numbers get much larger than last year, it is only fair to give them a heads-up and see what sort of special deal they can do for us.

I'm nearly 100% sure it will be at our usual place at The Spice Merchant in Malmesbury, as per the last 2 years

Plenty of space for people and cars and good curry to boot. Great nan breads and tried and tested. See Clemo's LEC curry group order for further details

PS Clemo, Dave P...... if you need me to do anything, let me know, as I will be there eadly sampling the fine Wiltshire ales and ciders

A bit like last year then. The (newish) manager of The Smoking Dug only confirmed with me a few days before heading down last year. I believe FaecesBook might be an avenue to explore nearer the time

Derails of last years beer, banger, burger and cider festival here...

He will be out in session 1 of qualifying so plenty of time to make it by his private helicopter ;-)

PS he won't be having too many beers before Sunday's race though :burnout:

Alan, what time are you thinking of being at Cobham services? Can join up to start a convoy from the South East. Especially as we appear
to be in the same B&B :-D

May need to start another post for convoys, as there appears not to be one at the moment!

For those who are staying over and have not yet secured accommodation: from conversations with several local hotels/B&Bs it seems that rooms for that weekend are at a bit of a premium, due to other unrelated events in the Malmesbury area. My advice is to book pretty soon if you want to be close by.

Let me know if you’re having problems, and I may be able to help!
