Really feeling the Elan love yesterday.
Not had any admiration from non Lotus owners for a while.
I had “nice car” from a poor guy waiting to cross the road, (to cut a long story short I had to reverse back round the corner into the car park due to a stubborn Audi driver) then later in Asda car park “She’s beautiful, can I take a photo?” along with the classic “you don’t see many of those”.
I bloody love my car.

Buying the required bits for a cambelt change from Rock Auto -
(and a poke towards slack UK Postal & Customer "services")...

..... order was made at 1404hrs GMT on Saturday (which was 0804hrs Central Time - localy to Rock Auto)....

.... Email received at 1843 GMT to say it has shipped....

.... Doorbell rang at 1322 today and parcel delivered.

Under 72 hours from middle of USA to West Wales - and that includes a weekend! 8) 8)

I guess that you paid the VAT in advance and that Customs are overstaffed and empty in preparation for Brexit then.

All you need now is some good weather to replace it....that'll be about April then.

Although closer, it still had to go via East Mids airport.

VAT paid to source as opted for FedEx (USPS collects on delivery to UK....eventually!), and the total was just under the threshold for Customs to be interested anyway.

I had originally planned on replacing it next week.... as such, I now have a list of jobs for this week already posted on the fridge door, so it will still be next week......ah, the benefits of a large heated garage :D

That said, I intend to give the brakes their annual overhaul (including swapping the rear callipers for the ones on the bench, and then rebuilding the current ones to go back onto the bench)...... and then there will surely be other things worthy of a 'quick tidy-up'.... so your April estimate may end up closer to the truth.
