Driveshaft Hub Nut

I have just learned that the Driveshaft Hub Nut (Pt no A100R6002F) is obsolete. I need two to complete the suspension refurbishment, I have tried the usual suppliers but none are available. Does any one have two, know where I can purchase them or have an alternative.

Don't know where your info came from, where you have looked or where you are based, but SJ Sports Cars sell them for £10.74 + delivery +VAT.

.... I know it says that they are for the elise - but as Lotus use the same part number for both (and I've fitted about 12 of them over the years), they are the same.....

..... or if you want one over the counter, try a Citroen/Peugeot dealer - they use the same thread on lots of their models. (and Volvo and lots of others).

For info, SJ Sportscars and Paul Matty have both told me that Lotus have discontinued this nut and both have run out. According to one supplier they made enquiries about getting some made and were advised the minimum order was 12000. This could be a problem in the future if alternatives cant be found.

I used kia clarus 1.8 1999- 2001 hub nuts 1.99 each from same company

… and the Peugeot Bipper from the same company.

Although the driveshafts were a pretty unique Lotus design, the more common parts used in them are off the shelf and not rare at all.

That they appear to say they have run out is really weird since the new (current) price book for this month has them listed as available.

If you are removing the nuts from both sides, you could re-use them by swapping them so the peened area of the collar is no longer trying to be re-used. The nuts do not distort or otherwise lock when tightened, it is the peening of the collar that locks them in place.

Just to confirm that hub nut is still available, l telephoned and ordered one from SJ Sportscars this morning.
