WANTED: Hi-res Elan photos

Postby Saltire » Tue 23.04.2019, 12:15

Folks, I need some high resolution Elan photos for something I’m doing as part of the Castle Combe Saturday entertainment. Ideally, I need an NMY car, possibly red, maybe Palacio. Dark coloured cars won’t work because of the lack of contrast, so my BRG is out. Prefer front three-quarter or near side view if at all possible.

If you have such a photo, and you’re happy for me to use it (don’t worry, it won’t be desecrated in any way), then please ping it over as soon as you can. My email address is on my avatar.

Bet you’re all intrigued now, but you’ll just have to wait for the 25th to see what’s going on

A while back I noticed the Photoshop 'Blue slider' turns Pacific Blue into Palacio ...

Jonathan - if you're still struggling, David Milloy (DM_M100) should have some high res. colour photos of my NMY that were done alongside the Black Beast for a magazine shoot a few years ago. I'm sure he'd oblige ?

Is the background important or will it be detoured? If you ever need a photo of a silver frost one I could probably make one. As long as the background is not too important. And as long as it's not too urgent :/

Looks like you're sorted Jonathan ... but I've got loads of images of our S2 from Castle Combe over the years all courtesy of Jim Gaisford who does the official photography for the Club Lotus day there in May each year so they are all reasonably hi res. Example:

Happy put a selection up somewhere if it would help to have a choice.

Thanks, everybody - I need to get my particular requirement sorted in the next couple of days, so I’ll use one of what I’ve already been sent. But how about a photo montage on the day, at the circuit - does anyone have a flip chart board or similar they could bring?

The depth of field might be a bit narrow (shallow?) but the photo is focused on the driver which is not bad.
Ideally it's would be probably a bit better if the whole car were in focus though. Still a nice photo in my opinion :)

I would agree Giniw. Nice shot but poor depth of field. Maybe intentional though ? It would be nice to see all those dead flies, midges and that Euro Brexit sign in focus

Sounds like you'd prefer the car further away Mark. Your wish...

Have to agree though that Brexit does also give me a great excuse for a new set of plates.

Mike - I can only see your O/S front indicator and a yellow bumper now :poke:

Perhaps I have to change from my tablet to my laptop
