Heater controls with white on them

Is the air circulation, heater dial and fan speed knob specific to the elan or are they from another car? I’m after some with a white mark on them rather than the orange/red

Actually they come from a Holden Commodore in Australia. GM owned Holden and Lotus used as many GM parts as they could "negotiate".

I had a friend in Aussie Land buy one that was similar to the Lotus version but it more venting positions than the Non-AC car but not as many as the AC car did and because of that, none of the vacuum controls would work, so I sent him the money to cover the purchase and told him to give it a heave.

I've been looking for the same knobs, the closest I got was a photo from an Australian breaker's yard:

They were too "Second Hand" for me!

I would think a few minutes "polishing" the plastic knobs so they have a bit if shine to them and a careful bit if white paint in the indicator groove would be acceptable.

I don't have steady enough hands to do it myself, but a few of my friends are avid model builders and they do things like this all the time.

The Aussie control doesn't have the same porting for the M100, so something would have to be bodged if you tried to swap out the whole thing.

They were mid 1990 cars that used them too, so diaphragms would be old and tired.

I’ve done the... steady as you can paint a little white blob on...and they look alright! Just wondered if I could get something a bit more professional lol
