Hope it all went well. I now know why Shirley said we wouldn't be able to come along to the lunchtime meal as the children were arriving. She'd already arranged a surprise late birthday celebration meal for me with all the children last night, at.... The Hen and Chicken!!

Shall we give this months meet a miss? Pick up again in February when my stomach may have returned to its normal slim dimensions.

Hi Chris
Hope you and Deirdre are well. I had intended to come but we’re having so much trouble with delayed and cancelled ferries with the weather I don’t think I will risk it.
Will get to see you all again.
Best Wishes to all

Hi Rob
It’s not just the wind, Wightlink to Portsmouth have been appalling of late. Staff absence, mechanical breakdowns, delays and cancellations.
Red Funnel to Southampton are better but you just can’t rely on them. Anyone with an important meeting, flights to catch, hospital appointments etc are pulling their hair out with worry or going the night before and staying in a hotel.
Boris wants to build a bridge to Northern Ireland, we need one here first!

Hi Dave, that sounds like rubbish service, especially as people have no alternative! Sorry, I wasn't questioning what you said but more selfishly wondering if it would be risky for the rest of us driving down the country lanes avoiding falling trees if it was still stormy.

Yes, but not this month. As of October we will be meeting at The Squirrel, Hurtmore. This is just off the A3, hope to you there.

Hi Chris
Hope you are both well. Is that a permanent change to the meet location? Any plans for a Christmas dinner?
Regards

Hi Mark

Yes, the change to The Squirrel is permanent

Well, as permanent as anything is these days.

We'll have a discussion about a Christmas Bash ~ are you up for joining one?

Yes, we are both keen to come along and see The Gang after such a long time. Would be keen to know likely dates to check/confirm availability, but I doubt if Shirley will agree to driving down that far in the Elan in Winter, even if I compromise and put the top up :D
Regards
