Just had a similar conversation with my Dad.

My only issue is the faffing that Ryanair are doing on purpose. My original cancelation went through 3 weeks ago for 8 seats and luggage.
My parents on the exact same flight got theirs through 2 weeks ago. Point being they are a week behind us.

Ryan air sent an email in error asking me to submit a new claim , then another the next day saying please do not reply to yesterdays email.
Knowing that this was an error then my parents should not have been sent the same email a week later. But have.

I totally understand the situation they are in , and if they were not a bunch of shisters then i think many would be more sympathetic.
But being 1 kg over and getting charged £10 hasn't helped their cause nor is making sure we don't sit together unless we pay extra. Along with all the other annoying things they do. If they came clean and said - look we are in a scrape here ( as you have suggested) next time you fly we will give you a free luggage allowance , sit together and a cup of tea we me might be up for it. The reality of it seems to be buying for time till they wriggle out of paying us back cash and getting the law changed. Honesty would go a long way . Something lacking from Ryan air. I did pay on amex . This may well be my next avenue to explore.

EDIT>

Found it via an email. Has less than 2 months . money taken on the 1st. so i have missed this month. I am not sure they give the final month as a refund . Heres hoping we may well be back to normal ish by 1st of May .... though i am not too confident nor am i in any rush.

I hope you all guys are more or less fine and healthy (or completely fine for most hopefully)!
As for me I have been confined in my flat for more than 3 weeks already, I took the computers at the office and I work from home ... So far no symptoms and neither my relatives.
Take care of yourselves, there will be better days soon(-ish)!

Highlight of the week all .
Put the bins out . I made an extra conscious effort as to fit all the cardboard into the smallest easter egg box. This took some strategic folding.
I also managed to get all the paper into one envelope , i kid you not. I did however use an A3 envelope and opened the top and tail not the conventional envelope fold. All of the glass bottles standing up ,i wonder if the bin persons notice that our selection of white wine has improved from co-op to the around the world selection from the rather up market local Wine box shop. As for tins nothing to report really.
I hope your bin day is as exciting as mine.

I am more worried that you read the daily fail rather than finding out about some posh people spending more money on a wedding when we are all hard up.

Cars I have owned.

First car - Vauxhall Viva 1300 GLS - equipped the same as the Magnum just with a smaller engine. Had the seven dial dash, chrome trim, Rostyle wheels, black vinyl roof and bronze paint, and of course golden velour interior ! Far better equipped than all my friends MK1 escorts.

Image109.jpg

Then had -

Turquoise MK1 Astra 1200E hatchback,
MK2 Cavalier 1.6 GL hatchback,
Cavalier SRi saloon in silver/anthracite,
Opel Manta GT/J 1.8 gold coupe, Vauxhall Carlton CDi auto in silver.

Droopsnoot Firenza.

Image110.jpg

That was the Vauxhall fest over with - mostly.

Other cars included -

Davrian MK8 with a screaming Bevan Imp engine all 998 cc of it.

Ginetta G27 with a Vauxhall redtop with twin 50's on it.

1998 TVR Chimaera 500 - starmist green with black leather.

1992 Ginetta G33 with a JE Engineering 4.6 RV8 in it.

1999 Jaguar XJR in black with black leather with 20 inch alloys and Bembo brake upgrade.

About 3/4 Mazda MK1 MX5's , one which was an originally BBR version got converted to a track car.

In some sort of chronological order (of purchase, anyway - sometimes I had 4 or 5 at a time)

Mini 850 (didn't have a reg plate, so no idea of it's age - used for driving round farm tracks.... never on a road - probably late 60's version, with soup-stirer gearstick)

Morris Marina Super De-Luxe 1.3 coupe - 1971 car - took/passed my test on 17th birthday in it.

Ford Cortina Mk 3 - 1600XL........ kept for many years and modified a lot - flourescent orange..... wish I'd kept it.

ditto - 2000E

1970 Jensen Interceptor (index plate sold for more than the car - 53 COX)

Lotus Elan S4 SE (1968) - started as a hardtop, but roof removed by Miles Wilkins using proper panels

Lotus Europa Special (1973) JPS colour scheme, but not one of the limited edition ones..... wish I'd kept it, but mortgage rates shot up.....

Capri 3000GT (J plate - signal yellow... purchased for £100 from a kid who got disqualified)

Triumph Dolomite Sprint........ the first of a few... Carmine red 1974 overdrive

Ford Cortina Mk 4 - 2.0 Ghia

Dolly Sprint automatic (for the missus to learn to drive in) - M reg, Mimosa Yellow

Series 2 E-Type jag.... paid £300 for it!!!!!!! - a bit rusty, so needed a bit of work......

.... but once it was fixed up, it got swapped for an Aston Martin DBS (6-cyl version)....... and sold on.......

YES - I KNOW :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Fiat 127 - white - what a shed! (fixed the rusty sills with crumpled newspaper and a rattle can of paint).

Mk 2 Escort 1600 Harrier

Re-purchased my first Dolly Sprint....used for a couple of years before being taken off the road for a rebuild.... still a work in progress (26 years so far, and counting!)

Another Dolly Sprint (Delpht Blue) - 1976

Lotus Elite 503 - silver - never really got on with it, so it didn't stay long.

Oh look - a Dolly Sprint - - but a bit special as it is an ex-works rally car.......

A Dolly 1850 - 1971 - purchased as it was tax exempt, and the rules changed, so Sprints would never be..... rebuilt with Sprint running gear, stripped out and turned into a race car after a few years of road use.......

Mazda 323 - the old RWD hatchback - looked like a Vauxhall Shove-It

Ford Fiesta 1100L (another one bough from a kid who got banned!)

Maestro Turbo - aution buy for £15 - with a full tank of fuel - too good to turn down on the day.

Cavalier CDi (Mk 2, 1.8 8v) - many happy years of daily driving in that one

Ford Mondeo - basic 1.8 repmobile - didn't like it, but ex-missus did, so i was stuck with it.

Rover Metro 1.4 (part of the divorce deal for the ex!)

Ford Orion 1.4, BMW 320 (the old 4 cylinder one), Vauxhall Astra mk 3 1.6 8v - all purchased as a job-lot at auction £60 all in!!!! - I wanted the brakes off the Orion for the race car (vented discs), the Astra had a new HG and became Angies Christmas present, BMW sold on and all costs covered.

Vauxhall Sintra 3.0CDX Auto (people carrier) - lovely drive, great for towing - drinks like a fish!

Lotus Elan SE (the red one!)

Vectra Estate 2.0

Vectra Estate 2.5 CDX (bargain car - 11 years of use and purchased for £1400.... only service items ever needed for it - over 100K miles driven)

Lotus Elan SE (the blue one)

Vauxhall Corsas, Astras and assorted 'commuter cars' including Pugs and other cheap things I can't remember with any enthusiasm.......

I know that there are more, but most were so insignificant that they are either not worth typing, or simply best forgotten!

This doesn't include those purchased/used abroad and abandoned.....
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

I seem to have had less cars than most, even though I have always owned at least 1 since before I passed my test at 17, even during my time at Uni.

(1990-96) 1982 Mk1 Vauxhall Astra 1.3 (Most fun car I have ever driven & that includes the Elan. A previous owner converted it to manual choke, which had to bet set just right & be adjusted gradually as it warmed up. Many people use to tell me 'just pull it out until the engine gets warm then push it all the way in', so I loved letting them have a go & watching their smug grin wipe off their face when the engine just died!
(1996-98) 1986 Mk2 Cavalier SRi 1.8 (Fun, but a bit less raw than the Astra. EFI made cold starting painless in comparison).
(1998-2003) 1990 Mk3 Cavalier 2.0 CDi (A lot more refined than the SRi with a wide ratio gearbox which made it quiet & economical on long journeys. My first car with PAS, which made me feel a little disconnected & is something I have never liked).
(2003-2010) P10 Nissan Primera SE 2.0 (Nice & reliable, but a little heavy & felt a little sterile)
(2007-) 1990 M100 Elan SE
(2010-2011) Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 16v (A bit like the SRi. It was a bit of a reaction to the sterile drive of the Primera. It had a recently rebuilt engine, but I later found out a piston ring was damaged during the rebuild & fixing it was way above the value of the car).
(2011-2018) 1996 Vauxhall Calibra 2.0 16v (The first was fun & they were cheap by this time so I bought another. I had it a while but I decided it was time for something more practical to partner the Elan & it was worth very little so I stopped any unnecessary maintenance until minor issues mounted up, then I changed it).
(2018-) 2008 Honda Civic 1.8 (Economical, comfortable & practical. It will do fine for now).
