Now we have our freedom back it's about time we dusted down our cars and went for a drive not just our M100 but open to any Lotus car's so if you know anyone with a Lotus bring them along to. The date is not yet set but some time in late July if that's ok with all, if there is a date that's better for you put it down next to your name. So in the true LEC way i will start a list.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but Dymchurch has so many historic memories for me.
I own a car that is a prototype and was built in Dymchurch in about 1954, in these times of quizzes, does anybody want to guess what it is, and as a clue there is a very distant link to Lotus here.

Time to start thinking about a date for this Fish and Chip run what is best weekend, weekday, lunch time or evening, the only day i am not able to do is the 31st also where to meet before we drive to Dymchurch.

31st works for us. I've copied the itinerary from the last one, it could work again?

Trevor :D

The Woolpack Inn at Warehorne, looks like a good place to meet, big car park and a 10mins drive from M20 Junc 10 and 25mins drive from Dymchurch. See the attached google maps link.

https://goo.gl/maps/nGisN

Suggested time table might be:

17:00 Meet at The Woolpack Inn
18:00 After nursing a glass of coke for an hour and everyone has arrived, form a convoy and drive to Dymchurch
18:30 Arrive Martello car park at Dymchurch (free parking after 18:00)
18:45 onward, buy our supper, admire our cars, chat, look at the view, say good bye and drive home, with the roof down of course

Sorry, misread the original. Why not propose a couple of dates and then everyone can state which is their preference?

The above looks good so lets set some dates Friday 24th July or Saturday 25th July

Isn't hijacking a thread the norm anyway :-D I would like to know Les. Dymchurch was a fairly regular sunday trip when i was a kid in the sixties and hasn't changed that much .

You've got me there, I think I'll need another clue!

I've been to Dymchurch quite a few times, mostly on the mini Railway! We've stayed in one of the old railway carriage homes at Dungeness on a few occasions, also camped at Camber and somewhere near Romney. A chip run to Dymchurch sounds great, enjoy!!

I would imagine that if we can agree a date. We would need to book a table at the pub, in the current climate ? !!
