We can do the 14th or the 21st but I would favour the 14th (so it's doomed to rain on that day now  )

Right 14th of August it is then but leave the 21st free if you can so if it is raining we can move it to the 21st.
The 15th is my Birthday so a pre Birthday drive sounds good.

Racking my brain on this .. Elva were on the south coast but I thought Bexhill so a bit far from Dymchurch ... Lola were at various locations on southern and western outskirts of London .. Give us another clue ...please.

Sorry Guys,

I was looking forward to the drive out and meeting up, but probably won't make it due to circumstances beyond my control (my wife's broken her leg).

Cheers,

I hope she's OK, a nice drive out will be just what she needs in a month's time then.

Hi All, apologies for delay in responding but struck with dreaded Covid :-(
Anyway, here's the story. I have a car called a Howard Special built by Howard Slight from East London in 1953. The body was made by a company from Dymchurch called Bonglass. I have the prototype and its an open 2 seater body made of woven strand with resin. It was built on a brand new Ford Pop 103a Chassis with a 10hp sidevalve engine. It has a Buckler diff, 16" wheels etc. It was in fact my very first car in 1971, but sadly could never insure it.
The moulds were purchased by Rochdale Motor Panels and they created a 4 seater Rochdale ST, producing about 100 shells.
Rochdale then employed the amazing Richard Parker who designed and produced the Rochdale Olympic who then went on to Lotus and worked with Ron Hickman.
As spares officer for Rochdale owners club I had great delight in meeting both of them. Sadly no longer with us.
