I can’t tell you how sad it made me to bring you news of our decision to cancel the Classic last month. For the last 12 years it has been my life’s focus to build the Classic into the most amazing family friendly classic racing festival, the biggest – and many people think the best – in the world.

We hope that you’ll be able to join us for the 2021 event instead when we’ll bring you our postponed 30th anniversary party as well as a series of other deferred celebrations… plus some brand new ones; it’ll be an incredible event for us to enjoy together… and we’re looking at the ways in which we also use the event to pay a fitting tribute to the inspiring key workers who are supporting us all through this very difficult period, too. More on that soon.

Dates:
Looking ahead to our provisional dates for 2021, the dates for your diary are: 30 July – 1 August. As usual, these will remain provisional until the dates for the British Grand Prix are ratified by the FIA (usually at the start of December) but we hope that this helps with planning for now.

Your Options:
As promised, we are making contact to outline the next steps for the various options available to you. These include:

Rolling forward your tickets to 2021: We hope that as many of you as possible will take this option to join us next year; your tickets will remain valid for the 2021 event and there’s no action you need to take. As a thank you for your continued support, we guarantee that the price you paid for your tickets will not be available more cheaply in 2021. You have the very best price on tickets.

In further recognition of your continued support, you will automatically be entered into a fantastic Golden Ticket Prize Draw* with the chance to win from the following:

> Upgrade to VIP hospitality
> A ride in a course car
> A tour of Race Control
> A pass to the backstage Green Room
> A trip in a balloon early morning or early evening (weather permitting)
> A Silverstone Single Seater Drive Experience (this won’t be during the event itself)
> A one-year free subscription to MotorTrend**
> Merchandise and memorabilia items

Requesting a refund: If you’d like either a full or partial refund, our ticketing partner, See Tickets, will be pleased to take care of this for you but please submit your refund request by 5pm on Friday 31 July.

Simply make your refund request here – you’ll need your booking reference and either the postcode, phone number or last 4 digits of the payment card that you originally used in order to access your booking.

Once you’ve accessed your booking, if you would like a full refund, simply select the “I would like a refund” button.

If you would like a partial refund (e.g. if you are part of a group booking with a mix of some people who would like a refund and some who would like to roll their tickets forward OR you only want part of your booking – such as camping - refunded), you will need to scroll down towards the bottom of the page to the Contact Us section and select the “My Event has significantly changed” enquiry option. You should then fill in the contact form with full, detailed instructions for which aspects of your booking you would like refunded and which aspects should be retained. See Tickets will then make contact with you to organise the partial refund.

Please just be aware that the refund process excludes any charity donation that you may have made to Alzheimer’s Research UK with your booking. In addition, any refund protection payment made and the See Tickets transaction fee of £1.95 is also non-refundable.

All refunds should be made within 21 days of your refund request, subject to receipt of all the relevant information.

If you’d like to request a refund, please ensure you have submitted this request by no later than 5pm on Friday 31 July. After this date, no refunds will be possible.

Donating your tickets: As a small independent events company passionate about what we do, Goose Live Events has been hugely challenged financially by the need to cancel this year’s event. With 10 months’ work already done by the team in preparation for the Classic in 2020 and costs incurred for an event that isn't now happening, coupled with the fact that we have no income attributable to the 2020 event, COVID-19 has set us back by 10 years or so.

We understand that many of you may be in a similar situation, but for those of you who may be feeling particularly charitable or are in a position to help, there a number of ways in which you could consider supporting us. For instance, if you know you won’t be able to join us next year and you’re feeling really generous, the money that you paid for your entire booking could be put to great work supporting our ability to deliver a bumper 30th anniversary event next summer. Or if you do plan to join us in 2021 but would still like to make a small contribution as a token of support, you could do that too.

If you’d like to donate your tickets or make a small contribution to the event, you can let us know here, and in recognition of the fact that our charity partner, Alzheimer’s Research UK, is expecting a drop in support by as much as 45% as a result of COVID-19, we will donate 10% of any funds received in this way to their very important cause.

Anyone exercising this option will also be automatically entered into our Golden Ticket Prize Draw (with the added prospect of complimentary tickets to next year’s event).

Regardless of which of the above options you choose, as a thank you for your support, we are pleased to have secured for you an exclusive offer of a 20% discount at the Silverstone Gift Shop, and on Drive Experiences, Tours and the new visitor attraction, The Silverstone Experience museum. Simply enter ‘ThankYou2021’ into the basket promo box at http://www.silverstone.co.uk when making your purchase to receive the discount.

We feel incredibly lucky that the Classic has such strong and loyal support and we really appreciate your understanding at such a difficult time. Just had a thought....... Silverstone Classics wasn't cancelled this year due to the Coronavirus thing. It was all due to the fact that Silverstone is holding back to back F1 races, starting at the end of July, the date of the Classics. Far more profitable for them, even if Joe Public probably won't be allowed inside. TV rights etc.. Our loss, their gain

I have a spare weekend ticket available for the classic if anyone is interested. If I can remember correctly, it was about £55 all in.

I always have to buy them in pairs and there are usually three of us that go.

I can arrange to hand over at the event or send them if you trust the post!
