Door Seals / The Rubber Solution.

Just wondering if anyone has attempted this one for themselves yet? , I would be surprised if not, as this has to be one of the more difficult seals to get for our little gems and this replacement for it is a worthy contender, Its really not that difficult a job and the difference it makes aesthetically alone is well worth the effort.

Maybe come the Spring the fettlers will be a bit more inspired.

Yup, I think I will only do this in Spring..... with temps now down below 5ºC, fettling is not a option

But, I have had a look, and it should be no problem fitting them.

5 degrees?, positively balmy mate!, it was near to minus 5 here last night and I was in the garage fettling away until 11pm and no heating on either , aye we are a tougher bunch us Scots, or maybe just flippin mad

But you Scots have, should you feel the need of its protection, developed the perfect antidote - to be taken in Dram measures as the chill bites. I used to take it with beer chasers as a cure for the common cold, mind you I had to wait til the following afternoon to decide if the medicine had worked.

Actually, I think you will find the Irish developed the antidode before the Scots
and, my personal preference is for a drop from the oldest licenced distillery in the world, but I have been known to partake of Jamesons, Paddy's or Powers, and as a youngster even drank the Scottish dram's

After a fair bit of experimentation with different donor seals I have come to the decision that the best one for the job is from a Mitsubishi FTO.

Jaimie - At one point you thought the Toyota Celica Mk3 was a good possibility for donor seals. Since the Mitsubishi FTO wasn't imported to the USA, and Toyota sold a lot of Celicas in the States, I might give these a shot.

Any thoughts on the pitfalls of using these donor seals on our cars?

There's a guy on EBAY breaking some FTOs, says he's had a run on the lower door seals this week. £35 a pair.

Hi guys,
Not sure of this post is live as such but after following Jamie's advise I have finally found a FTO breaker on ebay. I have a pair on order for £35 inc delivery. 2 other sellers have them so if your looking at the door seal then get them ordered as am sure the FTO will die off rather than become a long term classic.

So the new or old used seals turned up today from a FTO hoping to get them sized up this weekend. Condition is fantastic for the money so buy them while you can!! Just hope I can make it all fit as well as Jamie has done.
