I just heard from my insurer that my lovely turquoise Lotus Elan S2 (nr 208) will not be repaired, as uneconomical, so they are putting category N on it. My local garage in London quoted a price of £6000 to repair it. I think after many years it is time for me to say goodbye to the car in one way or another. However, I feel bad if it simply will be used for spare cars as was a joy to drive, and is quite clearly repairable. My insurer lets me buy it for £2532 so if anyone is interested in taking this one they can have it for a price above it. I live in London NW3 and happy to show it to anyone, but this is not going to be advertised on any website. Condition of car was probably below average (window rubber not good and small tear in roof), although it has been well maintained, I have a service record book and LOW MILEAGE at about 52,000 miles. This car was actually on the cover of the Lotus Magazine quite a few years ago. M307COT. If interested call me on 07799 415788 Taco

Well, the base car is known to have been in excellent condition just 3 years ago (before the horrific repaint!) - with many upgrades fitted by an enthusiast (on behalf of the owner who didn't know one end of a hammer from the other)......

It is expensive though, especially as many of us know how much it went for.

Come back Dico, all is forgiven

Some things are very wrong in the advert, including the paint job

Have to agree, that is not a good combination of colours ( I'm being kind ), still there is a bum for every seat and I predict the new
owner will be a Mr Sting King.

Well, I have to say; that looks f#cking awful.

...

Any sane buyer would have to factor in a repaint.

Shouldn't really comment on the price but I'd offer 15K less..

Absolutely nothing wrong at all with the colour combination, just does not suit the lines and shape of the M100, fine on baby Elans and Elise models though.........

:agree: - but it would be interesting to see an interpretation from someone more artistic than me of a contemporary paint scheme for the M100 (and, BTW, I’m very happy with BRG, thanks :D)

With all the mechanical work done by Monty, and the cash spent on parts by Dico, I think that's a tad harsh Jim...... but your price is far closer to it's value than the number on the advert.

(If I were allowed to comment on price, which I'm not, I'd expect something around ten should actually get it on your drive)

Can't see a dealer knocking off something around £6995 though :?

"it really is a fantastic car to drive and certainly not one of your average M100's for sure!" And Dico certainly wasn't one of your average LEC'rs either

If it was based on a red car it would follow the original silk cut colours and you would have got away with it (just).
