Hood Elastic Webbing

I'm replacing the elastic webbing - I can't see how it attaches at the rear on the main roof bow?
Also how do you set the correct tension?

From memory it's riveted to the frame. I couldn't get at the rivets, so just cut it off. Wrapped new Web round the tube and clamped with 2 off ¼" square rod drilled and tapped.

Drilled out rivets on remaining frame. Tapped those holes then fastened web with some tension. Last tension was using clip at front. I looped the Web back to first hoop and attached end with guesswork tension. This loop was then fed through front clip and ¼" rod into loop to retain under tension. So you have double webbing under tension between hood header and first hoop.

In UK you can get elasticated webbing from any decent haberdashery.
Check with SWMBO providing it doesn't give away your latest project!

Yes, get some from a 'decent'' haberdashery as the last lot of elasticated webbing I bought from a popular online auction site couldn't hold up a pair of stockings at a cheap strip joint. "How do you know" I hear you ask; "ask Fredjohn" I reply - "he told me!!!"

You'd expect that at a cheap strip joint John. You get a better class of elastic at a posh strip joint.
