Thanks John: I'm staying at home for 14 days. Time to finish jobs on motorhome (RV) and then move on to Elan (69) then the M100 and then fit new speakers to the Evora.

No change there then...….I'm retired!!

OK do we restart our monthly meets on Aug 16th?

We can sit at 2 3 4 5 or 6 different tables, wear masks and drink through straws!?

Comments of all sorts welcome to give us cheer after the last 3 months. At least the Elan is back on the road :D

I would love to put here some hilarious dad joke but I'm too young to produce them.

I'm not going for 2 reasons.

Most importantly I'm still self isolating in Durham.
Secondly I don't find the prospective of drinking from a straw and wearing a face mask as if I lived in China appealing at all.

The Elan is still on the road, lockdown provided some spare time to work on the car.

I'm proud to say my Elan now has front and rear parking cameras, as well as a beeping noise when the doors open with the sidelights on, a radiator fan override switch and the boot release mechanism is working.
The gas struts in the boot hold the lid open but are not strong enough to automatically raise it when opening, that still needs some work.
I also have fitted a set of seals from Jamie, but the end result is not up to standard, so I'm still in contact with him to ensure its all refitted correctly in future

Hoping you are all ok ( check temperature- yes ok to talk to you)
How hot will lotus get when gets the bug strikes.... With that gauge fitted it will probably be at half way.
We are still mainly isolated as joanne was in hospital with a bad asthma attack.Good chance to do the garden & make a few models.
I'm happy as my son has decided to give us a little crying/pooing/weeing Grandson called Zack, He's a little beauty.
So I think at least another month before we can meet, providing the Coach & Horses are surviving the mess.
Stay safe and we will all meet again

In view of above comments and general ongoing C-19 situation, I suggest we leave it till September at earliest.

Stay safe everyone.

oops I thought it was this week tut tut.
Yes we now have extra measures in Birmingham so hopefully if R comes down who knows.
Actually cleaned the car today and went for a run this afternoon. The Coach & Horses was open and car park busy.
NO SMOKE - fingers crossed. One of the LDC chaps on Zoom suggested it may have been water in the fuel. Seems I need to treat the car to a double Johnny Walker or something called ISO HEET ( USA post is £17 alone) :burnout:
Lets Hope its not too long Ill have forgotten alll you names.

Can't make tomorrow 15th Oct, even if we had decided to go ahead.

Worcs is currently on tier 1, so ok to meet indoors under rule of six. But as Weatheroak is in Birmingham on tier 2 we can't meet.

November anyone? (2021 that is!)

Hi All,

Weatheroak is actually in Bromsgrove District (Worcestershire) even though it has a Birmingham postcode so you can meet in groups of 6 or less and from multiple households:

Check - B48 7EA and https://www.gov.uk/find-coronavirus-local-restrictions

It would be ironic if there were more than 6 tomorrow - "Sod's Law" to be precise

well the problem moves on by the time we get out , Covid 20 will be with us.
Sorry to be negative but on the bright side my wife has found me lots of little jobs to be getting on with.
I'm guessing its a bit early to book for Christmas 21.
Hope to see you all fairly soon.
keep safe.

Had a meeting of Lotus drivers last week so it looks promising for the coach & Horses this Thursday.
Looks open for outside and this weather is great - hope some of you can attend 7.30 onwards.

Yes I went to joint LDC/CL meet last Thursday. Went well considering it wasn't the usual venue.

Unfortunately I can't make this month, I'm in Scotlandshire. And next month I'm at a CL 4 day do near Banbury.

So it'll be August meet next for me.

Enjoy yourselves!

Im not planning to attend untill my elan is back on the road. which is not likely to happen in the next 2 months to be honest.
all the body panels are out, but theres always some kind of project creep coming up while everything is out.
I've fixed the front jacking point, now i need to weld new metal in the rear of the outriggers, Im seriously thinking of getting new shiocks and springs for the rear suspension to completely refurbish everything around there (the wishbones are currently being acid dipped and powder coated, The fuel tank is out of the car, the header seal was removed again since i didnt fit it properly a year ago and was leaking..... its just a big mess of parts everywhere in my garage.

Hi all,

Unfortunately, I can’t make it tonight (and the good weather has broken). Have a good time. Will see about July nearer the time.

Cheers,

Martin
