This is from the repair section of the site:
"Now that you have it out you will notice that on the motor there is a screw holding on a little faceplate. Take it out and remove the plate. You should be able to see the spindle now. Under the spindle is where your problem is!! There is a little rubber piece that acts like a gear set. Most likely this rubber piece has broken. Take it out. I placed 3 nuts about the same thickness of the rubber in its place. Put the spindle back in place, lube it up, and put the faceplate back on."

I've seen great details posted here about how to remove the regulator and glass etc, but only one post about trying to replace that rubber thingy. The poster was unsuccessful in finding an exact replacement.

Has anyone found an exact replacement, or should I resign myself to doing a "nut job"?

I suspect this is also my problem, but another possibility could be stripped gears? Is there a replacement gear available?

Symptoms: motor runs but glass doesn't move, can sometimes get the glass up if given a lot of help by pulling the glass upwards.

Related question: I've left the glass in the up position but if the rubber thingy or the gear is the problem why doesn't the glass just drop back down? Maybe I'm overthinking again....

Unfortunately, I have never had to dismantle the window motors (well, I suppose it isn't unfortunate for me), so can't help with this one.....

No idea, I’ve never needed too replace them.

Not that has been identified for the M100, and it’ll be a tough job without a swaging tool, there are three swages on a wire; one either end, and one in the middle, obscured in the drum.

The spool is loaded clockwise and anti-clockwise; in layman’s terms you have a knot, just like a western cowboy tying his horse up before entering a saloon.

Digressing slightly, back in the day I had hundreds of “Post Mod sliders”, I used to repair/exchange these for free, the first time you undertake the task it a bit overwhelming, the wire jumps off the spool and everything appears lost... but in reality it’s what needs to happen to disassemble the unit. This will also allow you to disconnect the slider and give you room to work.

Following a window slider replacement procedure is the way forward.

My top tip, don’t remove try and remove the electrical motor first, remove it after everything else... after the wire spool explosion.
