Does anyone knows where I can get the door strap pin A100B6020F,
Is Obsolete and at this moment I’ve a screw with a nut ……
If there’s any replacement for this pin except screws I’ll appreciate

I did a temporary repair with an M5 screw and nut..... and that was 14 years ago, so I'll probably not bother to change it now.

I had the same problem (pin popped out on opening door and disappeared somewhere!). Confirmed obsolete by SJS. Reproduction not viable considering low demand.
I ended up using a shouldered bolt which works perfectly.

Hi All.
I renewed the checkstraps on an MGTF 5 years ago and got some new pins. I took a pic of the old pin. It seems these are LandRover bits (BDM100050L).
Just checked the Rimmer MG site. They're still available and there's some (expensively) on eBay
I think can measure the MG part (the TF hasn't gone yet ) but don't know the Lotus size; perhaps someone can help with this? It looks like it can be expanded tho'?

Seems it’s a common complaint, this spring loaded pin is specially designed to go “ping”! When being removed and fly across the garden (if working outside, as I was), never to be seen again. I replaced it with a more mundane solid steel pin kept in place with a p clip. But I still look for it occasionally when gardening, as my universe has been disturbed.

Chris... the LR pins fall straight through the hole on the Elan, they are 6mm, the Elans are 8mm.
These are some I have sifted out of the big box of random nuts and bolts in the garage, there's probably some I missed, it's a big box!, I'm certain I have others stashed somewhere else as well, but 7 here anyway, if anyone desperately needs one send me a message.

BTW a tip for removing these, put a cloth over the top of it, stops it springing away into the abyss never to be seen again.

That's useful info Jamie N and, speaking as a newbie, typifies the 'LEC caring + sharing' mantra that comes across in many parts of this particular forum.

Door check strap pins are not entirely obsolete !

A short while ago I found what looked like the correct dimensions to be a direct replacement for these pins and bought some to check them out.

The good news is, they are, and they work. The only snag was that they were in Australia, with the associated high P & P costs
The pins purchased were for Holden Commodore VN-VS series cars. Dimensions are 8 mm dia. x 28 mm.

It seems like there are some 12,000 to 15,000 of these vehicles still running so hopefully this part will not be obsolete for quite some time.

I have a small number, 16 to be exact, that I bought as extras.
If you're looking for some door check strap pins and want to cut down on the P & P costs PM me.
Unfortunately, and, apparently, unlike Jamie N in the previous post, not everyone has plenty to spare and is able to give things away. I'm just looking to recover my costs.
it's £6 for one, £11 for two, plus the price of a postage stamp.

As a side note if you are finding that your door is clipping the small A-panel ( And possibly wearing away some paint work on the rear outer corner of the panel in the process ) and / or pushing the A-panel out at the base when the door is opened it may be, as in my case, that while the pin appears to still be in place it is actually cracked or damaged and is not correctly doing the job it was intended for.
Since I have had these new pins installed there has been no clipping and no wearing of paint on the rear outer corner of the A-panels.
