Question about License Plate Plinth USA

Postby jadamcyk » Wed 16.02.2022, 05:54

Hi I have a 91 Elan that’s missing the rear license plate plinth/cover. Is there a way to get a replacement? Or am I out of luck? It’s just an eye sore without it TBH

Thanks
Justin

If you are talking about the same plastic cover that is on the U.K cars (?) then these were not available on the federal models as the surround is different due to the shape of the plate. If it’s the actual surround then maybe someone who has done the rear light mod has a spare.

I am assuming you have a US/FED M100.

Part number B100U0408K went obsolete on (17/09/08).

I checked every source I know and nobody has a new one.

I have a used one that is in prety decent condition but someone cut out a small piece on the bottom right side.
It is not visible when installed on the car, but the retaining tab for that corner is missing (marked in yellow), so you might have to create a replacement tab.

It has been glass bead cleaned, so will need some attention.

I am in the US and have a LARGE collection of M100 parts available for sale, both new and used.

If John can't help you I also have this part since going with the LGM rear taillights.
Shipping would have to wait as I go out of town till April.
