Boot-lid Bump-stop Required.

Morning all,
Does anyone have a spare boot lid bump stop? It's the large nut with rubber buffer attached to the spoiler/boot lid fixing. I've lost the one side and SJSportscars don't appear to have it on their website.

Is your boot bump stop like this:

This is on an S2 and I believe the bolt with rubber pad is A082U7290F listed by SJS at around £11, not sure what thread, but around M5 or M6. SJS have a note against that part informing early models used an M8 fixing with the same rubber bumper/cap as the bonnet supports which has part number X046B6113Z. You referred to a 'large nut with rubber buffer', so I am a bit cautious that this may not be the part you are looking for.

It might be obsolete, the part number doesn't show up in any price books.

SJs has it and a picture on their site: £10.81

Please post a picture of the bump-stop you still have.

If you have access to any breakers yards in your area you will find a multitude of bump stops and I guarantee you will find something that is compatible for the M100. Most yards wouldn't even charge you for such an item maybe a quid at most.

Neil, is the bolt M8? If it is, then the SJS note about earlier cars probably applies, using the same rubber bumper over the bolt as for the bonnet bump stops i.e. X046B6113Z @ £1.15 each (+VAT + postage).

In these positions on the S2, they are normal M6 bolts, which just attach the spoiler. A pair of smaller bumpers/brackets (items 34/30) are fitted more towards the centre of the boot lid

When I did mine I replaced the whole lot. Part of it is an M8 thread (cut from a length of threaded bar) between the bootlid and the large metal lumpy bit - it goes through into the rear spoiler. the bit with the rubber on is a standard M8 setscrew, with a rubber cap. I got a bag of them from ebay as I was changing all the similar bits for the bonnet as well. They cost pennies.

Yep, found that out after stripping it down. Basically my large metal lumpy bit fell off on the LH side, I think I have a work around using a few bits and bobs from work, it'll be a little job for the bank holiday weekend.
