So are we going to resurrect the monthly meet. Next date is 8th June.

Venue hmmmm, how about the 'The Refectory' at Milford, Godalming. No idea what it's like but it's got to better than the Squirrel! Its a Brunning and Price pub and they're normally pretty good.

https://www.brunningandprice.co.uk/refectory/

Please register your interest. I will have the Elan fully legal by then so it wioll be a good outing for it.

I'm not going to make it this month for health reasons.

Next month should be fine.

We should resurrect Spin and Scoff, too

Hi, I am based near Gatwick and have have two cylinders misfiring. It has been suggested that having exhausted other tests that I test my Ignition module on somebody else's car obviously only if there is an owner out there that can go to the bother of spending the time with me. I would plan to bring my module to a members home/garage to complete the test. It would take an hour to 90 minutes all in?

Holy thread ressurection Batman!!!

A few of us met up recently and we decided to resurrect the H&C meet, well sort of! I have talked to the H&C and have provisionally booked Sunday, 15th December for a Christmas lunch. They sounded rather surprised when I said I wanted to book for Christmas and here is no surprise that they didn't have a menu to offer. Therefore the booking is totally provisional. I said I would call them in October to see if we were still on for the 15th and whether they could offer us some menu choices. The one other thing is, it's under new managememt so heaven knows what it like now. Maybe the crackers will have better novelties in them, lets face it they don't have to try hard.

I've told them 8 settings thus far but if anyone would lke to join us then keep an eye on this thread. Frankly Christmas is not far enough away as we've barely had a summer!

Happy hols, Chris

So here I am - a regular on the Essex meets until I er.. moved to Ewhurst in Surrey.
No idea if you guys are doing anything in terms of meets but I am guessing I’m not that far away.
Chrism is near me, other than that we don’t know of any M100s around here.

Hi Pete, the H&C was our regular venue when we had a few of us attending the monthly meet. It sort of worked, as it was equidistant for all of us. Now the demographic has changed a bit so the H&C is probably no longer appropriate. The other aspect is, the once popular meet, has lost momentum. Also the M199 is very much a niche marque, meaning owners are few and far between.

That said I would be keen to see things pick up again. So who-s interested in getting the Southern meets up and running again. Answers on a postcard please!

Yep...I'm up for supporting that, it'd be rude not to: It's in my back yard living in Pulborough, WSx. (oh, why haven't we run across each other chris.t? :( )

ps there's also a pub at Hinton Ampner SO24 0LA in the same area with a largish car park...I went there on an MG drive-it day...

Just a thought, appreciating demographic change etc and adding to chris.t's initiative...

Wouldn't it be an idea to start from scratch, establish any interest and location (eg chris.t, chrism and peteoddcar are in Sussex - perhaps a couple more too?) and then find an equi-central venue that's approved by all (if we want it plus a 'whatsapp'-type list(?)) otherwise I get the impression that we might be 'stabbing in the dark' a little..

This might well establish if there's a collective appetite and if we prefer to pursue our own mates, or billy-no-mates-ish-ness :?

In my own particular case, peteoddcar is my new/only m100 pal , WSMGOC are my old-but revered MG pals (who offered me sanctuary at Cranleigh recently) and SADCASE car club are a local evening/daytime umbrella club for all marques (that very recently doubled its m100 tally at a recent evening meet at Amberley Museum WSx). I joined the 'mob' of 15 or so at Castle Combe at the end of May and it was so good to meet up and kick tyres with the movers and shakers and innovaters of LEC. - I'm looking forward to next year's meet.

I wonder whether or not we should start off with a list (inc location) in the time-worn LEC tradition? Any takers? And, if necessary, a new thread?

Hi chaps
I’ll add my pennyworth - the Essex group had been virtually inactive for some years until last year, Graham K and I keep in contact albeit rarely, but put a similar post up on LEC and LEC FB and found a few more people and we did a meet. We agreed to set up a Whats Ap group and bingo it took off. Seems people don’t look at forums as often these days.
I am happy to set up a WA group
I have ChrisMs number feel free to PM me via LEC forum if anyone else is up for it.

I suggest we call it Sussex and Surrey M100 No Mates , to continue with ChrisM’s theme. ( or other catchy name suggestions )
Can someone do a new thread with that new name?

rjbean there's a new thread started where you can add your name to the list and send details to peteoddcar in case there's enough of us to set up a What'sApp group.

It's called the Sussex and Surrey M100 No Mates meeting.

Seeyer there.
