probably correct. So sad to see this guy close the company down for helping out a few Elan owners.

Has anyone had contact with Mark lately ?
Apparently his website is down, phone number and mailbox out of order, no reply on e-mails.

I suggested M100hoods to another Belgian Elan driver, who got in contact with him.
Mid January Mark sends a message all parts are available, and he'll send an invoice.
Though after that, no more communication (even not the invoice)

As there have been lot's of issues with M100hoods over the last years, I should advise him to go for an alternative supplier...
Any suggestions for full kit including all seals and webbing ?

Thx, Peter

If you are still trying to get hold of former employees of Trim Technology, try looking here on the company house website

You may find former directors etc etc and their addresses as at time of liquidation.

But we have never met and have never been to his facilities.

I always have a lot of respect for people that ate doing something about keeping our cars on the road. And I have always tried to promote his (and other peoples) business to anyone that contacted me about hoods and seals.

I had seen links to Marks website and had read information from him years earlier, it looked like he was doing a great job, I think it started with his flyers being left on windscreens at a Donninton event, and I supported him.

I was so surprised to see that he was failing to send out parts and thought that it must have been a shipping problem. It happens, I know!

I am sorry to say that I am probably the one responsible for pointing this thread out to Mark back in Sept 2006, as I believed that he needed to know about the concerns that were being brought up about his company, and was hoping that he would rectify the problems and clear his name and get the people that had not received their parts, and to finally have their issues resolved, and for him not to make the same mistakes again.

My apologies to anyone concerned, if this was a mistake on my part.

Since then I have seen a different side to Mark’s company. And will no longer promote his business or deal with him in any way.
He ordered a LOT of parts from me about a year ago and has still not paid. Although he said he has done a bank transfer on more than 1 occasion. I still don’t see any funds. He still says send me details and I will get back to you.... Never happens.

He had asked me for help on seal reproduction, which after a few emails back and forward, I refused to help him.
His current information on this is that he has had them all remade but refuses to sell any of them or divulge any of his information about what seals he has about his stock or company....

I was trying to help a friend in Dubai to get hold of a new hood and seals. I was really shocked by his blunt replies.
I’m sorry, But I would not currently recommend him to anyone. Such a shame as I had always believed his company had the potential to help out every Elan owner.

I finally refused to answer his questions as he is currently taking Trim Technology to court for selling their remaining hoods and is also taking up court cases with a few others....
Not sure Who, He didn’t say. I’m probably going to be one of them.

Hi, We at loddonbodyshop@hotmail.co.uk have had various dealings with Mark Burrage ( NOT GOOD ONES )..!!

We've painted various Lotus Elans for him and he owes us a lot of money. Only ever paid a little here and there saying he was always owed money from his customers, we believed this at the time but not now. We have various parts from Elan's from doors to bumpers etc etc in our unit. Some painted and some prep'd ready for priming. We last heard from Mark Burrage in 2016. December 2022 we got a threatening letter from him saying he will be taking us to court if he doesnt get all the panels back fully paint etc etc ( He hasn't paid for any of these panels painted or prep'd and still owes us for other work ) He owes us a lot of money and we are not releasing any parts until full payment is made. In 2018 i got a letter from a so called QC ( Retired ) name withheld Saying that we have his parts and can he get someone to pick them up. This letter was obviousely a try from Mark Burrage to get the parts without paying the money he owes us! The letter did not have the person's address on and it said please leave a message on the mobile telephone number as they had a bad signal. Kept trying the phone number over months but could never get an answer. Mark Burrage in some of his last emails to me in 2016 said he had throat cancer and couldn't talk or come to pay us the money he owed us but he coulsd get parts picked up. ( If he genuinely had throat cancer then I'm very sorry but I think this like many other things said was a lie ) But yet again he wanted to take painted bumpers etc etc away without paying. We have a very strict policy that we do not let any job leave our premises until full payment is made ( We are a small but amazing busy bodyshop ) I'm very concerned that we as a company might have various panels for Lotus Elans that maybe customers of Mark Burrage may of paid him for but have not had back including the main cars themselves! We find Mark Burrage's business practices to be very odd and I wonder how many people and businesses he owes money, work or parts too? This could add up to a very very large sum of money. Anyone wanting to email me regarding this please feel free too. Include your telephone number and we can have a confidential chat maybe !

Paul Alexander wrote:hello everyone,

i've been reading this thread with great interest, as it appears i may have been one of Mark Burrages last customers, but i have declined to comment - until now.

as you may or may not know, i had M100 hoods, fit a new hood and seals to my elan back in February (valentines weekend - so took the wife for a weekend in Norwich as well). you can the new hood in my minor project thread (maintaining ruby).
when i picked up the car, about 3 weeks later, i was pleased with the results, but the long journey home showed me, that a couple of tweaks were necessary. i contacted Mark, and we arranged between us a time for him to pick up the car, sort out and bring back, on his trailer. this was done, but when he dropped it off, he said he was in a rush, and shot off before i could fully inspect the car with him.

to cut this short, i have to say Mark is not someone you can rely on as the pick and collection dates were changed many times by him due to many various excuses (traffic jams, accidents, torrential rain, and a puncture on his trailer).

i eventually managed to speak with him again, and arranged a further pick up time for him to tweak the hood again, but yet again, the day he was supposed to come up, he told me he was running late, and that he would stop in Derby at a hotel that night and collect my car first thing in the morning. i agreed, but joked with my wife "i wonder what excuse i'll get tomorrow, we've had them all aprt from his trailer being nicked".

guess what - the following morning he text me to say his trailer had been nicked from the hotel car park. you couldn't make it up could you.

i text him back (i still have all the texts between us) and said "hi mark. you really don't have much luck, do you.hope you find a new trailer ok.let me know when you can come up.cheers."

he text back "no, lucks against me at the moment - what with hood problems, punctures, traffic, theft, list goes on. would like a break if honest."

that was 20th May.

i text him again on 4th june and 22nd june and got no replies.

it took him 4 months to e mail me the invoice for the original work carried out (after asking him nearly ten times to do so).

i've had no e mails from him since 7th June.

one thing i can say is that when he originally picked us up and took us to Norwich and when he picked me up from train station (when i went to fetch the car), he had quite a few phone calls, and they were mostly about money - what he owed people and when can he pay them (make of that what you will).

to sum up, the hood looks great but i am sorting the tweaks myself, and to be honest i wouldn't use him again. he is too unreliable, he doesn't respond to texts etc. use him at your own decision but be warned.

however, if by chance Mark reads this, he has the opportunity to redeem himself or at least explain what is happening.
