Boot inside edge fiberglass repair

Hi all - has anyone had the same issue - the inner lip (edge) around the boot (bit which the seal is clipped on) has snapped; however, only in the front area near the lock (constant dragging of bags in and out I suppose). I'm thinking do I really need to do a fiberglass repair here... or can I just stick down a new seal of some sort directly to the surround? Advice gratefully accepted.. Mike

im confused.
why are you talking about a fibreglass repair ? i cant see any fibreglass damage in the picture ?

I had this on mine - I did a repair with resin and mat - just a single thickness, nowt too difficult/exact - by the time I pushed the seal back on it wasn't visible (repair applied to inside edge) at all. Mine was caused by putting a plastic crate full of camping stuff in and out of the boot, and resting it on the edge..... easily done, but easily fixed!

Thanks Dave - I think I will give it a go. I thought perhaps reinforcing/support that edge with a fibreglass strip of some sort; I'll let you know how it goes.
Tuga - the thin edge bit (for want of a better description), which the seal clips onto, has been snapped off in the picture; its flush with the surround of the boot. cheers M
