Hey,

It was great to meet you all this evening, and thanks for all the tips.

Here's a picture I took when I first arrived.

Hope to meet you all again some time.

Andy

Yes was a good meeting - definitely worth keeping it going. I am sorry I had to leave early but I had a really early start this morning and a very full day.
I think maybe meet bi monthly just for a social evening, and then sort out some evening runs in the spring and summer months. I’m ok with any ideas frequency.

Good to see everyone, maybe aim for a Christmas one next?
Next year we can look into some runs and getting out a bit.Bi-monthly is fine with me.

Andy, If you have any more 'On mine this happens' questions we can answer with 'Yeah, they all do that unfortunately' or anything else, feel free to PM me.

Slightly off topic
We went to Malcolm Ricketts open day the following day, and I must say what a fantastic day it was, the man certainly knows how to make people feel welcome and there must have been nearly every model of road going Lotus there.
We spoke to a few couples there who have their monthly club meet ups and they mentioned that they have a deal going at a pub, main course and one drink for £14. After paying £17.50 for a double G&T and a pint, I sort of lost my appetite, which turned out to be a good thing as Scampi and chips was £17.95. Thinking out loud, 2x main courses and two drinks each = £71 in a very mediocre pub with pathetic car park lighting…… seems a bit much to me!!!
I don’t have any answers to this problem (possibly only a problem to a tight arse like me) but surely there must be a more value for money way to meet up even if it’s a run out for a bag of chips and a coffee

Very true, the prices are a bit fierce.
However, it was a bit of a struggle to find a venue to suit everyone and, understandably if she's making a few quid, the landlady was all for it.
Alternative suggestions welcomed.

Yes it was only a trial on venue and day of week etc..
We too thought the food / value was pretty average.
The main thing is we have sort of established a “meet”
I have a couple of ideas to put out there for discussion / rejection.

1. Venue Thomas Kemble just of A130 at Rettendon maybe ? (I’ve not been there for years though )
2.possibly a Saturday Morning Breakfast there or some where else there’s lots to choose from ?
3. A different evening ( not Mon or Tuesday for us as we regularly childmind the grandchildren in Surrey those days.
4. Maybe up a WhatsApp group for the current members but stlll post on here and LEC FB when we get the next date and venue sorted
5. Try to establish some sort of loose agenda - I think the idea of summer evening runs out is great, get some dates and venues logged.

Hey,

I could make a meet up any weekday evening, or any time over a weekend, with enough notice. Can't offer much input on venues though; you're a little bit outside my usual stomping grounds.

I think a WhatsApp group is a good idea, especially if there are any problems meeting up/arriving late/etc for an organised run, we're not reliant on somebody refreshing this thread on their phone to coordinate.

We talked about a Christmas social meet. My December is already starting to look a bit loaded, so picking a date out of the air to get the conversation going how about the evening of Wednesday 29th of November?

Cheers,

Andy
