Castle Combe 2024

Postby alan e » Sat 10.02.2024, 10:13

Our annual track day at Castle Combe takes place on Saturday 25th May. It’s always one of our most enjoyable events of the year and is a great Club Lotus day out as well as a brilliant value and safe track day exclusively for Lotus cars.

Track packages are £110 for members and are available to book online or over the phone until 3pm on Friday 24th May

Please note: You must be a member of Club Lotus in order to purchase the track driving packages

If you want to come along and spectate - please do! It's free and you don't need to be a Club Lotus member. The track action starts at 9am and ends at 5pm

Oi - you know the rules....... :poke: :poke:

1. Alan E
2. Pinky (and maybe Mrs Pinky, if she isn't working)
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

I think if you made a list of every member of LEC, 99% would state that you need to have a list...... it may not be written, but rules is rules.

If you made a list of all LEC members, only 5% are probably active. Of those I'll bet 100% will demand a list!

Well, as they say “there’s nothing on the telly”. And John got me thinking . . . :offtopic:

As always with statistics, it depends on what the 5% is a percentage of:
    - there are 5,742 users on LEC. That excludes the Admin user, but inevitably includes people who’ve registered twice under different names
    - of those, 2,221 (39%) have never posted
    - 1,814 (32%) have between 1 and 5 posts
    - 1,707 (29%) have 6 or more posts.
Putting it another way, the top 100 posters (1.74%) have all posted more than 500 times, and only 383 (0.57%) have more than 100 posts.

On the assumption that ‘active’ means that you’re posting regularly now, I reckon the 5% estimate is reasonable. After all, back in 2019, we managed 100 M100s at Castle Combe, and that’s UK cars only.

Back on topic: I’ll be there on the 25th :D

I was quite underwhelmed with it last year..... so will be firing up the BBQ at the campsite, and maybe walking up for a swift half in the other pub.

Talking to the campsite owner last year, it seems we really missed out last year. Her son that used to work in the smoking dog, moved to the Rose and crown and organised the music festival that we heard as we walked to and from the smoking gun. I don't know if the music festival is happening this year, but it might be worth keeping an eye out.

The Dog has been through more tenants in the past couple of years than I’ve had hot dinners . . .

Nothing announced for the Rose and Crown that weekend as yet, but I’ll keep my ears peeled
