I suggest we call it Sussex and Surrey M100 No Mates , to continue with ChrisM’s theme. ( or other catchy name suggestions )
Can someone do a new thread with that new name?
There you go now to start a list of who may be up for it and where you will be coming from so we can find a pub central to keep the traveling down.

I have let Muley know who has been a member of the Southern group for many years. He's in Berks by the way which doesn't fit in with your proposed thread name.. I know it's only a name but being so precise might make people feel excluded.
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

Maybe it should be called "Sussex and Surrey M100 Berks meeting"

Change of name will that do if people are happy to travel but i think the meeting place should be in Surrey or Sussex.

On this parallel thread Re: SOUTHERN AREA - Hen & Chicken, Alton. 2nd Wednesday of M peteoddcar offered to set up a WA group.

My thoughts favour using his generosity and experience to establish (at first) a local communication group based on interest and friendship which might, sort of, better dictate the geography of any subsequent set-up?

We could then inform each other of local car meets and/or breakfast meet-ups with a view to getting at least a few of our m100s together. I wonder if this is the way to go, initially?

Thinking ahead to a meet up, am I right in thinking that the majority of those, who have shown interest thus far are in Sussex?

Fine with me. Sooner rather than later. Away for a couple of weeks in September, hopefully I'll be able to make it. Let's get this rolling.

Here's a list of Sadcase Car Club meets:- (they're sort of based in Storrington WSx...)

Image

Should we be thinking of using their meets as a kind of a 'umbrella'?

Weds 11th Sept is the last of their Amberley Summer meets and then Sat/Weds happen in Oct, Nov, Dec

Eve meets are 5:30-> and lunchtime meets are 11:00 -> 14:00

peteoddcar made it to the August Sadcase eve meet at Amberley Museum as well. Loadsa interesting cars...inc TWO m100s :) (gasp)

If we use his WhatsApp list we can meet up outside, park together and have our owm mini-meet under their umbrella?

Or, are there any other suggestions?

That's okay, chris.t - you're obviously welcome to pitch in whenever you can :)

In general, should we individually join Sadcase and get our own monthly newsletter of events - or use peteoddcars WhatsApp initiative to inform the 'nomates' group, or both?

I'm pushing Pete's offer because locally there are some big annual shows and it'd be good to be 'm100 NoMates' together at those too - whilst advertising our 'brand' ( )

Like with CCombe, do we need a list :? for him or PM him our details?

Why don't we just meet i don't know who is retired and who is not and seeing that is getting dark around 7pm now would it be possible to meet at lunch time and we can talk about what we want to do about Sadcase.

Okay...why not do Sat 21st Sept '24* at The Spur Slindon BN18 0NE? - It's an 11:00 -> 14:00 daytime SADCASE regular meet through the dark months, so it's goimg to have a big enough car park.

It'll support our (prospective Sadcase) cause and be far enough away give any undecided LEC-ers in the area chance to have a long think and perhaps get into Pete's WhatsApp list.

Being retired I'm happy to meet any time, but I'll definitely be at Amberley for their last summer eve meet on Weds 11th Sep - perhaps peteoddcar too. (They might open early again, too, since the eves are drawimg in.)

* chris.t according to your dates you might be able to make this?

Always open to other suggestions though...

NoMates became 3Mates at Amberley Museum this evening. Pete, newbie Alan + Chris.

Next meets agreed to be a lunch meet SADCASE Sat 21st Sept '24 at The Spur Slindon - BN18 0NE - from 11:30 (weather permitting)

and a breakfast meet SADCASE Pagham Breakfast Meet. Pagham Beach Cafe - PO21 4 SX - on Sunday 29th September 2024 - from 9am (weather permitting, of course...).

In the Lotus spirit of friendship there's always room for more NoMates :D and peteoddcar is in charge of the WhatsApp list...
