Door to door window rubber seals

Hi All

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

I am fitting new rubber door to window seals. I have removed the door cards, black plastic inspection panels, not fitted and speaker. I have found in the bottom of the door a furry strip which I assume is a door/ glass support and according to a video I watched can be glued back in place. Would a new one be better?

I also found this part which I have no idea what it is or where it should go. Any help much appreciated

Most folks call them weatherstrips John, you can glue the furry strip back on if it's reasonable condition. The rusty clip is what usually holds your lock barrel in place on the inside of the door.

Now I know what the clip is I can look on the other door to see how it is supposed to go on. Thanks again

It just slides into the groove on the barrel, thing is though if your lock barrel didn't have it in place it would probably be extremely loose, so my guess would be it's been replaced at some point
and that's the old rusty one sitting in the bottom of the door. Then again I could be totally wrong.

The lock isn't loose but it doesn't work so maybe a new lock has been added that the ignition key does not fit? Can I have a lock made up to fit the ignition key?
