Classic Motor Hub - 6th April

Postby Saltire » Sun 06.04.2025, 15:50

First proper event of the season in the sunshine today at the Classic Motor Hub - we were the only M100 on show, although plenty of Lotus were in evidence. Excellent bacon rolls, good chat, and plenty of dogs and people admiring the cars on display.

Some Lotus-related pictures from the morning:

And finally, the quiz of the day: What's the car?

Looks like a lovely day!!

For the quiz, I can see that it's a Rolls Royce, but gosh, that's more polished brass than a Parisian cafe  Stunning

Gold medal to Austin, Tx. Here’s the car: for sale at a price well into six figures sterling

And if that’s too much brass for you, how about this?

Wow, that's cool. But is it ULEZ compliant?
And, should I come to you to collect my prize, or are you coming here?

Oh, I do hope not, Matt!

When I had my '72 Alfa Spider, the MoT tester used to say he'd pass it if he could see the back of the garage through the exhaust smoke. That's what it should be like

Well, in years gone by, I used to fly to Houston regularly on business, but not since I retired, so the best I can offer is to buy you a beer at the May Castle Combe Lotus event    Deal?

Wait a minute now, hands off, hands off! :chair:
I'll just put that beer on lay-away, thank you very much.
Jonathan, you are a gentleman and I would love to take you up on your offer of how to collect my winnings. I don't think it'll be this year, but maybe next year I can organize a trek out there. Seeing as how you all are sleeping on the ground anyways, I won't have to budget much for my lodging, and if a free drink is in the mix, well even better :-D
