Not wishing to leave anything until the last minute, and with a day still to go until I leave home.......

....... who has the gazebo, and will they be bringing it on Saturday?
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

It is precisely due to the lack of space that I don't have it!

I *think* that either John O had it, or maybe Alan E - but if not, I will go to "plan B" and dig an old gazebo out of the loft and try to fit it in with my camping kit...... I can (probably) fit it in the car okay, but don't want to have to take it if the decent one is likely to appear on the day.

depending who you ask the forecast changes rather drastically

bbc is saying 50% change at midday on saturday
https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2653597

duckduckGo is a bit more lenient with 10%
https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=castle ... ast&ia=web

at this point im more conserned about how windy it will be.
under a gazebo on a windy rainy day is not appealing at all. but without the wind im sure the banter (and hot tea) would make up

Well, that saves me going into the loft for a gazebo.... thank you, Alan.

We have no control over the weather, and we have had a fair few 'good' weather days at CC recently (although I also remember some others with a chunk of rain!).

I shall pack accordingly (wet-weather gear, shorts and sunscreen - with a brolly in the boot to keep rain/sun off my head) - Nowt quite like a cuppa getting diluted by the rain - but the chance of a good day out makes it all worthwhile.

Hi Tony,

According to their website, they open at 0800 on a Saturday, so I plan to be there about then. It is only 15 minutes from our camp site. Then, Castle Combe starts at 0900 (but is open before that), so I suspect we'll be leaving at about quarter to nine???

That said, I am very flexible and this is not an autocratic decree, so if someone is running late and lets us know, I'm happy to hang on, or if everyone wants to crack on at half eight, so be it.

Basically, I shall b e there from eightish to whenever we leave!

considering how long it took them to serve me my full triple XL breakfast last time.. we will probably be late anyways

So, as far as I can make out, the only nailed on and happening so far is :

Saturday morning meeting at the pitstop for 8 ish

Getting to the circuit for around 9 ish

Nothing set in stone for either the Friday or Saturday evening ?

I have a gas BBQ with me for Friday, but it is weather dependent...... or play it by ear whenever anyone else gets here.

Saturday will get sorted on Saturday, but a curry is always a good shout.

I am set up at the camp site, for those arriving, we have been allocated a space in the back field (as usual), through the gate and turn to your right. My tent is in the far corner. They have asked that we use this bit as they have another group using the bit just inside the gate.

If I'm not back from London whe you arrive, my tent is the blue& grey one at the end of the mown area. I'd like a bit of space to park, but if not, I can park in the car park if we are a bit tight for land.

my situation is the following.

I Have my M100 on the trailer and ready to start a trip south. im planning on probably leaving at 11 or so. giving me about 4-5 hours to walsall. where it till be unloaded (probably taking another hour) and all my tools will be moved to the shed.

then beging trip to the camp from there with the m100.

im doubling up the trip in order to bring up north another car that i will be resotring over the coming year.

so the bottom line is.. do not expect me anytime before 6 for sure. but ill be happy to join everyone for a evening meal.

I Have Dave's number. so i will let the group know whats my ETA closer to the time as im completely clueless as to how to unload the car off the trailer by myself.. it took mean hour and half to load it... and that seemed to be the easy job

Sorry folks - a bit wimpy I know - but from WSx we'd be starting off in a huge downpour, driving into it (in a mobile sieve) as it heads our way and arriving soaked where there isn't a huge abundance of shelter.
With the prospect of more rain the day's looking way too grim for us - so without wanting to bail out we're gonna bail out, hoping not to disrespect those LEC gurus we were so looking forward to meeting up with again.

Sorry to miss you, Chris, but fully understand your reticence.

Had a good chilled evening yesterday with a glass of wine (or 2) with Mark (rambo) and Jim (muley) at the camp site. Currently on the train to London, and still sunny!

Oooeer. Where have you been looking for your forecast Chris? I know its all a bit random, but the Beeb's tale of woe has been getting gradually better over the last couple of days - so much so I've currently swapped my plans back from the Esprit to the Elan. They're currently saying light rain up to 9 or 10am then just cloud for the day with the drizzle back about 5. No heavy stuff at all. Maybe its just Sussex??
