Clutch Issues

I've put my new/engine box in with a new clutch. Attaching all the pipes/cables/leads,etc as we speak.
When i went to attach the clutch cable to the pivot arm, the pivot arm moves an inch or two without much pressure - is this right ? I would have thought that it should be very difficult to move as it normally would require the cable to move it ? Please don't tell me something isn't quite right inside the box..........................

If its hard to get your cable back onto the pivot arm (and you haven't adjusted your cable at all) then that is good news, otherwise...
I've attached a photo of what mine looks like "at rest" once the cable is back on the pivot arm. I don't know if there are enough commonalities in our engine mounts for this image to make sense to you of how far up the pivot arm is, before it starts to have resistance, but its all I have. Maybe someone more local will share an image of theirs.

Just checked the clutch pedal and its very loose ? Maybe i haven't adjusted it correctly yet. Or is there a spring on the clutch pedal ? Can't see it in the parts diagram

Its just that the arm coming from the gearbox can be moved very easily by an inch or so by hand - doesn't seem right ?
