Window Motor Male Power Connector Size

Hi All,

Does anyone know what size the male plug that connects to the window motor is (see picture from another forum thread below)? / Not sure if this is known, or if I need to measure the female end.



I'm in the process of investigating why my driver's side window won't go down. When I took the door card apart, I found that I actually just had two crimp connectors (picture below - ignore the crocodile clips), which weren't connected, so I want to avoid them coming off by accident.

As a side note, sadly, it doesn't seem that that is the issue, as after connecting them (which first time blew a fuse (any thoughts on why?), a small noise was made from the motor (after replacing the fuse), and now no more - I have tried the cables in both orientations. I get 12v when the button is pressed (checked with my multimeter).

The motor was in fact rebuilt by SJ some years ago, and the car hasn't really been used since. However, that area has been a bit leaky for a long time, so I wonder if water has got in and caused damage.

the motors are simple 2 wire configuration. the spinning upwards and downards is just a reversing of polarity.
the relays are the most likely culprit if you can move up but wont move down.

i have had the issue now twice where the window would move in one direction but not in other. and after re-sitting the relays it started working.. for a few months.

eventually i replaced the relays. it turned out there was rust building up in the contacts. the mechanical action of re-sitting them would clean up the contacts enough to get it back up running for a while.

I should have been clearer in my original post, I couldn't move the window at all - luckily it just happened to already be up!

When I pulled it apart, I could see that the cable had snapped in one place, and the motor wasn't working, even with the cable removed.

I've got another motor, so I will attempt to refit when I get some time.
