were is the fuse located for the window motor ? Mine has stopped working .

just checked not the fuse . So looks like the motor . What year and model is the peugot one that fits?

As that regulator is for a Scania, and runs 24V, I'd be surprised if it would either fit or work in an Elan......

Had to pull the window mechanism because the plastic block had broken, followed the instructions on this thread and all went well until I put the motor back in and I could not get the studs to line up at all, i could get two in but not all three.

Is it possible that when I reattached the cable to the nylon block that some how I got the ends switched around and one of the cable outers might be slightly longer than the other hence pushing the motor out of true alignment?. All of the studs on the motor and the slide mechanism are pointing in the correct direction and when I hold it up against the door they seem to be all in the correct place ?

15 hours spent so far messing about on this job its a real pain in the butt to do especially getting the cables back on to the nylon slide block.

I remember it being very fussy to get it all lined up as well. You could take the regulator assembly out of the car and then press the threaded studs in to a piece of cardboard to make a template of exactly where they line up. Take those holes in the cardboard and lay it over your door holes to see if they even line up.

I've rebuilt and re-spooled the window regulator, however, when I slave the motor in outside of the car, after a number of back and forths, the cable seems to pull out of the end crimps. Is this because more force gets applied to the motor system outside of the vehicle than when it's in the car? - Would the window physically stop the motor system from maxing out?

I've crimped it quite hard with a proper crimp tool, so not sure why it pulls out.

Any thoughts? Thanks

Hi Noah..I've replaced at least six OEM window regulators in various M100s and have had no issues with the Peugoet 405 window regulator. You're right... it's a tricky faff and the stop end ferrules need to be really tight...but the P405 regulator is so much better than the OEM item. And the regulator bolt studs (3 of them) fit the door holes perfectly; I put washers on the studs so that the regulator fits flat to to the door inside its little cover sleeve. Thanks for getting back to me Mike. I'll drop you a line now. - I actually haven't had any problem rebuilding it, my issue keeps being that the end crimps pull off - I've just had a thought to crimp them in a vice, so I will try that, but awaiting more cable.

When you've tested the motor outside of the car, do you push it to the end of its range? - This is when my crimps tend to pull out after a couple of back and forths.

Noah.. using a vice is best... I've found. And Yes, do the testing to the full extent of its range to ensure the cable lengths are correct, then carefully install the mechanism into the door..always a bit tricky.. but there is a knack. I also find that if you adjust the glass in the two outside runners such that the window slides down by itself under gravity (lots of vaseline!)...you have less stress on the power regulator (and the cables..etc) when you activate it.
