You were the inspiration mate!

I owe you a pat on the back for the satisfaction, and a swift kick in the squidgy bits for all the pain! ;D

Seriously though, I'm dead chuffed with the results, and would recommend this course of action to anyone before it's too late. Thanks for spurring me on.

Oh that's a good question - I think I've had a couple of tins lurking around in my garage for ages.

I'm sure Halfords still sell it for less than a fiver for a 500ml tin.

Just did a quick Yahoo search for "Davids zinc 182" and it comes up with a UK internet retailer as well as a couple of very useful looking links with chassis rust prevention guides. Now we`ve got LEC back (and looking brilliant) Just an update on Pinky. She`s been lowered and dampers have been stiffened up and yes i can feel those bumps, Luv to lower her a bit more but i`m just catching those speed humps
Since i bought the car theres been a wineding noise and thought it was the wheel bearing, but i`ve had her in a garage up on the ramp and now we think it`s the gear box :x possible bearings in the gearbox were the drive shafts meet or could be the diff, been told to change the gearbox oil but i can`t see that helping much unless it`s empty :? So it could mean swaping Pinky 1`s gear box over

I`ll try and get better pic`s of the stripes soon. Thanks to doug for the size of stripes to use

Make sure its not the turbo whining - use the old screwdiver as stethoscope technique

My turbo does whine and flutter, but the whining i`m on about is always there ie. In gear, neutral, rolling etc. My dilema is if i decide to replace the bearings in the gearbox and it turns out not to be that, i will be :censored: :banghead:

But on the good side, as predicted by moi, the threads now fixed, the last page no longer says "no posts exist"

I hope you get it sorted Monty, but atleast you have your own spares bin.

Yep at least page 4 means something now LMAO

Good job i kept pinky for spares :D
Just this now holds my aftermarket Exhaust project :( as the front pipe needs to be removed to get the gearbox out.

Once i recieve the wind breaker i`ll be altering the rollbar then i`ll fit it :)

ps. looks like Pinky II just missed out on the photo on the banner

I think (looks nervously around waiting to be contradicted) that the turbo is spinning to some degree as long as there is exhaust flow. I have a whine in red car (red car has decided to fall to pieces recently) and a search with the screwdriver stethoscope implicated the turbo....

To be honest Monty, the image used in the banner isnt the one we originally chose, but the person who took the photo still hasnt replied to our request for permission to use it.

Post-post anxiety, Alan?

I'll join you in that opinion.
