Hey all,
I"m trying to fill out the rest of a 10 bar order. Unfortunately steel prices did increase since the last run so each bar is now $440. Let me know if there is any interest.

Hey Marie!
Ah, you know I am interested... Not sure if I am in this last run, or a previous one? But wanted to mark it down regardless so you can count me in.
Thanks again for looking into this!

LGM,
I'm in for one. It can become this winter's project. Do you make the winblocker as well as I'd order one of these at the same time? I'll PM you to confirm.
Cheers, Candles.

I need 10 to meet the requirement of the bender and to get the best price on steel. I want to get the order in before prices go up again ( usually in mid Sept)

I am interested, but far from sure I can afford it yet. When do you need to know definates by?
Could I be cheeky and ask you to post a few piccies of the rollbar (and maybe even the wind deflectors)?

That hood vent looks neat Marie, what's it doing for the engine bay temperatures, have you had chance to measure open versus taped-closed?
Nice work (as usual

Thank you Brian. I haven't had time to get actual #'s yet but this I can confirm....... at 120MPH, my water temp needle used to reside just over the 1/4 mark. Now it's just under. The car also seems to be alot more stable at speed between the addition of the vent and the lipspoiler+ the small front belly pan I created. You can also really feel/see the heat evcuating from the vent when the car is stoped.

Marie,
Very subtle vents. Impressive. You're the glass goddess!

Hear, hear. That looks great! I don't want to take over the rollbar thread, but am curious about the vent. Did you do any testing to see where the lowest pressure was over the hood? It sounds as if the "flaps" on the vent create enough air movement to make a noticeable difference, regardless. Very cool.

Cheers MArie, The rollbars and wind deflector look really good. Seriously considering it despite my lack on finances (bankmanager? what bankmanager? quick! hide!). I really liked the look of your central console too, I definately need to get a new handbrake handle and gearstick bling.
When do you need to know a definate by? Also, whats the price on a rollbar and a wind deflector as a pair?

SCHURCH, the combo would be $480USD at current steel pricing.
Dave, unfortunately I didn't get the chance to do conclusive tests on the lowest pressure point on the hood. What I did do however was to test for the hottest points under the hood though. those came out to be just above the turbo and and the rear of the engine just behind the intake plenum. with this in mind I thought it possible that the heat generated by the turbo rising to the rear was the culperate and therefore decided it best to vent where the heat was going. this would also allow air to flow over the intake plenum and hopefully keep the temps down. no tests as of yet though. This is all just theoretical except for the preliminary tests on heat. They look the part though

and seeing the heat rise out of the vents does put my mint at ease that at least the vent is doing its job.

Hi LMG,
Is the lip spoiler a one-off job? I recently imported that the rubber lip and found it to be too ugly and destroys the look of the car. the lip spoiler would be a great addition to protect new paintwork over here and really does look the part.
u just seem to be getting all the right projects done

The chin spoiler you speak of is a modified Esprit V8 unit. I had to heat form the sides to fit the wider Elan front end. I"m tyring with the Elan. I am just going to re-mould the tail light section again and I think after that and maybe custom fabricating a hard top, I'll leave the bodywork alone. Then on to finishing the motor and tranny, then suspension. After that....... up keep only.
