Guys they can't even predict whats actually happening outside their own window, every symbols got a rain drop cos their just covering themselves.

HOWEVER, would it be an idea to have a contingueny plan - like a trip to the motor museum if the weather isn't exactly picnicy??

Ok so it might rain, i am sure it wont be as bad as the camping in the lakes, so stop being girlies & act like men. A little rain never hurt anyone after all.

Done the recce this afternoon Suggest we stick with J1 of the M27 (Cadnam). When exiting head into Cadnam (if from the North then first exit off the roundabout, if from the south it's the third) a short stretch of dual carriageway, before the next roundabout take the first left then almost immediately left again at a T junction (opposite Silverbrow kitchens). A couple of hundred yards on the right hand side is the Sir John Barleycorn Pub, plenty of parking around the pub, suggest we make that the RV. Route down to Lepe from there takes about 40 mins of steady (New Forest speed limit of 40 MPH) driving. Past the entrance to Beaulieu Motor Museum, through Beaulieu village, no roadworks or anything today, just the usual New Forest Hazards of cattle and ponies in the road.

Windy today at Lepe, plenty of parking (£1.50 for 2 hrs, £3 for 3 hrs, £4 for all day, pay & display) a small Cafe/restaurant and great views over the Solent to the IoW.

Sound like a plan?

Good stuff. Forecast is looking better day by day, we can shelter in the cafe if all else fails - I plan to bring instant barbies and sausages and normal barbie stuff chairs etc plus a gazebo thingy and a large fly sheet if I can find it.

What time should we meet at the pub? Is it still 3:00 p.m.?

For all planning on being there this afternoon, I've just seen the weather forecast and suggest waterproofs would be sensible . South coast around the IoW looks as though it's going to be a bit damp.

Well, your forecast was good. Still, as Keiran says we did manage the spin and scoff in the dry. We had a good drive back, despite the rain - virtually no leaks from the hood either - honest !!

Saturday was good, despite the weather, QE2 and the Spit were definite bonuses. Katie thoroughly enjoyed herself and didn't stop talking about it until the following day! Thanks to all who were so kind to her, she enjoys doing the 'blonde floozy' impression in the Elan.

I might well make it to 'Wednesday' it's not too far, I'm not at work on Thursday, I'll post in the Southern meet thread.

Cheers for taking those, Christ.t mentioned in another thread about how modern our cars all look still and it's so true. The Elan has just not dated at all (IMO). They look great lined up there!

Have to say I didn't notice at the time how dirty all our reg plates were, you can't even read them!
