And finaly what about the comment of op-s2 with the thailand Hardtop?

What do you think, know already?

Best Regards

I have no idea whether the PM HT will fit the Kia...this will be down to whether your header rail clips are the same as ours.

The blue Elan and the unpainted top on the red elan (Stef's) are essentially PM HTs (They're actually pre-production HTs like mine).

Photos to follow.

Didn't realise there were so many options!

Yep. The 'snowcap' one is little Blipi unpainted. 8)

One of the advantages of the PM one is that it replaces the hood stowage cover and therefore eliminates potential leaks from the back.

Good luck!

A few shots of my hardtop.

Thinking logically, the dimensions of the cars (Lotus Vs Kia) are the same.
The hoods are made by the same firm (Trim Technology) and the hardtops use the hood's header rail fixing clips (as shown in the second picture).
Therefore, I am of the opinion that the answer is "Yes, the PM hardtops will fit the Kia Elan".

I cannot comment on the practicality of the Kia hardtop that you have shown a picture of because I have never seen one.

As far as I know, none of the other examples made it into production because of tooling costs and seal issues.

So get your order placed at Paul Matty's pronto...is my advice.

Ask a dumb question, Sy, what's that "e"? I've seen them on Elises but don't recall seeing them on the Esprits.

Lotus were awarded an Enterprise award earlier this year. that's the badge to signify it. It's a winged E with a crown atop.

We saw a green Elise with a gold E in a line-up at Hethel and I said to Stef that it was exactly what I was looking for to fill that panel.

When I found out it was available in yellow...

THX for the help :) Your Elan looks marvellous Image

Have visited tonight another Elan but forgotten to look after the fixingpoints :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

ok, so I will draw a new summary at the end.

BTW: I´ve read the whole thread of kuching incl. the growing up of the HT. Only now with your new pics I notice a little variation of the design-line. Don´t know to explain it in fine english words, bout it seeme to me that the corner of the windscreen is not that figure of the HT. Is there a leak?

As I already said: I ´ve send PM a mail. No reaction until now. :( Is there a better different way for it?

Compared with the soft top, the inside, when the HT is fitted, is like Arizona Desert.

If you've not got a response from PM via email, try giving them a call, they seem friendly enough, and I know one roof is in stock, as my avatar shows...

Sy, everytime I see pictures of your BRG and Yellow beauty, Costa's Shark, or Stef's Blipi I realise just how far I've got to go with the restoration of my pink and leprosy afflicted Elan! Thanks for continuing to raise the bar!

Now to go and pick her up from the garage :burnout:
Ford Fiesta Mk2, VW Polo, Golf GTi, Lotus Elan, Honda Accord Coupe V6.
