NTC does NOT make hardtops -- PM is the ONLY source!

Wouldn't bother mate it never made full production and was never finished, if you do finally get an answer it will say something like "it's near completion were testing some revised door seals" same answer for 4 or 5 years now lol

That's the baby, and same seller too. Available in a variety of colours.

On the hardtop note. I called in at PM's on my way home yesterday...he has 6 hardtops ready to go. I managed to manipulate the conversation with Paul on to price and was really happy to hear that we can put all these price hike rumours to bed.

Sy,

That's good news on price, my wish for a hardtop has lost a bit of impetus since getting the second car but at that price I really will see if I can get permission from SWMBO! (but not this week).

By finish, I mean outside (paint) and inside (flock or other).

If you know the colour code of your Elan I would have the paint matched in Germany.

I used a firm in Kidderminster (I forget the name) for my interior flock finish. I will check the company's name for you.

I have Green flock in mine. I believe Grahame and Kuching have black/grey flock (done at the same place as mine).
Stef (I think) has a carbon fibre finish - not sure where that was done though. Stef?

FWIR Stef's came CF from the mould. It is a bit glossy so reflects the light off it a bit (what she told me), but it looks great! You may be able to have them keep the gloss down on the interior finish or just sand it a touch to dull it a bit.

Yes, I currently have the only CF lined hardtop.

It does have a 'gloss' finish but is not distracting at all. It was a prototype done by Kuching.

IMO it is truley stunning.

Grahame with the medina green, has his cloth lined which is also an option which you can colour code.

Simon (Kuching) really has put amazing attention to detail to the finish of these hardtops, I couldn't recommend them more!

The name of the firm that I used for the flocking was:

Qualplast (1991) Ltd
Unit C,Swift Buildings, Hoo Farm Industrial Estate, Worcester Rd, Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY11 7RA
Tel: 01562 825072

The flocking cost me £176.25 (incl VAT)

Hardtop Summary

Postby Bolsom » Sat 24.09.2005, 19:10

The price hike rumour mentioned by Sy was a quote given to me in May by
Paul Mattey themselves. Perhaps there wasn't a rush of sales - whatever,
this new price seems more reasonable so I will join the queue.

Hi,
Paul Matty just mailed me about a hardtop. Price would be 1340 £ + VAT. Delivery to Belgium would be another 170£ + VAT... Quite pricey, since no headlining is provided, nor the attachments...
Think I'll try to make the hood waterproof...
Regards, Frank

Don.Hasi wrote:As you know, I´m looking for a hardtop, like most of the forum?

I have contact Matty and NTC whether their HT will fit to an kia as well and for the complete price for delivery to germany...

no answer until now

Never the less i want to cut the story in this way to put all the known alternatives together...

Further questions to clear:
First of all, does anyone know something in regard of the snowcap one?

Is this one (Stefs???) different to the one of Matty? It seems to more like the snowcap one..

Is this one the NTC one, which Neil.D posted?

And finaly what about the comment of op-s2 with the thailand Hardtop?

What do you think, know already?

Best Regards

What attachments?

There are two brackets for connection to the b-post - these must be supplied.
You then transfer the header rail clips from your soft top to the hard and ...Hey presto.
