Hethel - Seat Refurbishment

Postby Sy V » Wed 20.07.2005, 12:38

When I got my seats refurbed earlier this year, I kept my original red-stripe ones to loan out to other members so that they could give theirs to Lotus for recovering and install mine in their cars as a way of keeping them on the road.

CarlP was the first to take me up on the offer and w.e.f. this w/e he'll be finished with them.

I was keeping all correspondence on this matter in my Saved PM area. Big mistake! The old forum PM area hasn't copied across and I can't remember who was next in line.

I need the next person (I remember telling them that they could have 'em after Carl) to shout up so that we can arrange the seat transfer.

Hi,

I think that may well have been me... you said at the time that CarlP and timmo were in line for them, and having contacted them both Carl has now had his done and timmo claimed to know nothing about it.

If someone else is waiting as well though (or I'm not the next in line) I'm happy to wait a bit (preferably until I sell my flat and get some more money in!). If not though, let me know how to proceed... given the Elan is my only car, transporting 2 more seats is an challenging proposition - how did previous owners handle it?

Ian

When do you want to proceed? The seats are available.

99.9% certain it's all in.
But you are supposed to deliver to your local dealer who forwards them on to Mel Broome @ Lotus. His people then package them up and send them back to the dealer.
Better plan is to phone Mel (available through switchboard) and arrange to deliver them, he'll then walk you around the upholstery section and you can bounce your ideas off his three-person team. They'll then send the seats back to your nominated dealer who will take payment.

Sorry for not getting back to you on this thread. I definitely still want to get them done (and dear god do they need a refurb) but am more than happy to wait until Paul P has had his done as I'm still waiting to complete the sale of my flat (many months after I'm supposed to have moved to Leamington Spa, which would be just a few short miles to Stoneleigh - so hoping we complete in the next few weeks!)

OK, no problem.
I hadn't heard from you and Paul's need came up kinda suddenly, so I let him keep the carousel spinning.
