Dash vent's.

I think it's common that over time the dash deforms around the vents, especially in hot climate. My car is original from Florida, and the dash had deformed to such an degree, that the actual vent. fall right through the hole.

I did cut out a litle of the form between front dash and backside, made a small frame around the vent., pressed it all back into the dash, and secured it from the backside with some Sika-flex 221.

I think it's almost invisible, but see for your self.

I've noticed that my driver's side vent has no resistance to it anymore, so vibration causes it to gradually close and shut off the airflow.

If I can just remove it without damaging any of the surround, then I can use some sticky-backed velcro or something to make a "brake" for it.

But there are no screws or anything, so how do the vents come out of the dash?

They are just pushed/pulled out.
A couple of black sewingthread around the vents axels use to do the job as a "brake" on rotating vent's.

These parts have a Ford # on them, has anyone spotted which model they were used on?

No, but it's easy to make.

I had an old door, and the surface of the cover plasticplates inside had the same structure as the vent. I toke the vent. out and cut a piece to fit the hole when it was pressed into wanted position. Then I cut a hole to fit the vent. itself. The catches on the vent sides has to go to secure some frame is left in these areas. Therefore when it is pressed back into position, it has to be secured from the backside with some sticky stuff like Sikaflex 221. A stick from the softtop to the vent will hold it in place ontill the sticky stuff has cured.
