I`m dissapointed to say i won`t be bringing the Elan. I`ve replaced to HT leads, dizzy cap+rotor arm and it`s still buggering about. Runs lovely until it gets hot then misfires/hesitates under load - usually at a rounabout. I`m fed up keeping wasting money replacing parts that are ok! So i`ll still see you all but i`ll probably be in our atomic yellow Fiat Stilo Abarth (if that gets us there). Can`t wait to hunt for some non-existant N/A ignition parts / advice!!!
Regards to you all

Oliver.
I can let you have an electronic copy of the EML section of the workshop manual which is specific to NAs at Stoneleigh. Clemo was kind enough to lend me his copy when I bought my NA off him and I've scanned it. It has the diagnostic charts in it, very useful. I've just solved a similar problem on my NA. I replaced the pick up coil as an obvious first fix (again courtesy of advice from Clemo) but when that didn't solve it I worked through the diagnostics and narrowed it down to te distributor module (the bit the pick up coil connects to) or ignition coil. changed the distributor module and it now runs sweetly. Parts came from Paul Matty and are genuine Lotus so expensive but the distributor module is a GM part but not sure what off. If you want to try to get the car to Stoneleigh I can e mail you the relevant sections of the manual if you want (they're big files), PM me if so.
