Inperfections/Blisters on Bonnet and Boot Lid

Of course your bonnet is already insulated. But not where the skins are bonded together and this reaction occurs.

The marks on my bonnet also showing on hood stowage comp. They are very linear and definitely not due to heat/ chemistry. I now have the car back with hard top fitted. Marks on both bonnet and hood stowage lid have been eradicated. Thanx to Smart -Coat, Ipswich.

I have some of the same on my BRG and I just overlook them. Several years ago I looked at buying a BRG that had this problem on every single panel. The sides of the car looked very bad in the sunlight and this really put me off on that particular car. On my car I concider it part of the patina along with the stone chips and other well placed chips and scrapes.

I believe the Elans (some more than others) receive a fair wack of filling and sanding at the factory Over time the paint, filler and moulding resin cure / shrink at different rates revealing what they attempted to conceal? As mentioned elsewhere, it's a credit to Lotus that the Elans often get mistaken as being younger than their years
