Lotus Elan Central

Does anyone have any advice on how to remove it?
A couple of kids tried with no sucess however the badge is partialy bent up and the image has cracked........I'll kill 'em when I get me hands on them!

Anyway saw a new badge for £16.00.......is this a fair price do you know?

Any help would be wonderful!

Robbie, 1st, that is a very fair price for a new badge, not sure what the normal ones are, but the black & gold ones have just gone up to about £63 & i don't think the normal ones are far behind !. Badges are fixed by to black plastic screws, which screw onto the lugs that protrude from the badge & through the bonnet, so you need to undo them from underside of the bonnet. Hope this helps ?

If it's a metal badge for £16 and the screw holes line up it's a good deal. Mine was £52 and needed a bit of work to fit

If you live in a sunny part of the world don't get the plastic stick on ones they fade :cry:

And I agree, anyone caught trying to steal badges should get the death penalty!

Can't understand why club lotus would sell them half the price of lotus themselves, also wouldn't think lotus would be very happy at that either, unless there of inferior quality ?

The actual part number for this badge is A117U0170F which isn't the same part number which is on SJ's website, so I won't be purchasing that then!!

My parts book lists the Elan's nose-badge as A100U0178F. The number you quote (A117U0170F) sounds like it's from a MkII Elise (type 117), and therefore will be a plastic one with a different mounting.

SJ quote "NOSE BADGE A100U0178F @ £43.85 EACH" which sounds right to me. Didn't know anybody still had them in stock. Club lotus does a nose badge for £46.94 but the spacing of the screw pegs is unlikely to fit the Elan.

I replaced mine with a Black/silver badge and had to drill the holes larger in the bonnet to make it fit :-D
