i have been wanting to get hold of some mats for the elan for ages. Could this be another item for group purchase if we were to get some specifically made. With LEC logo perhaps???
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

Good idea Chris, lets see if there's enough interest. I have original mats in my cars and could lend a set as a pattern if required.

I pick up my first M100 on Wednesday (1992 Normally aspirated). Tell me how good they are! :!: What are the first things to check and keep an eye on?

Cor crikey - hope the "Off Topic Police" are feeling sympathetic towards newbies!

Welcome LP. Have a browse around the different threads (especially the "Wanted UK Cars" one), there's a lot of reading to do. I can't help too much re the N/A engine, but there are plenty around here who can (eg Nige above), just look in their signature files.

But for general maintenance I'm happy to try to be of assistance.

Make sure you come along to Donington in March, and prepare a list of questions!

Edit: just to bring this back on topic again, although I can't compete with lending out my mats as a pattern, I'm don't mind measuring/photographing mine and posting their dimensions so that others can "reverse engineer" new ones.

I have put out a tentative enquiry to a mat company who do those rubber backed washable mats to see if their interested and we'll go from there. There's bound to be a minimum order which will reflect in the price. If things look promising i'll start another thread to gauge interest.

Sorry about the "Off Topic" but there was a reason! As i said I am collecting my first M100 tommorrow and I was brousing through the chat RE:- Badges and just got carried away, could not stop myself posting mail!!! The reason I was looking in this Forum was because the Motor I am picking up requires a new badge on the Bonnet.

Found one on ebay anywhere else I can look!

Don't worry, I'm not complaining, just helping wherever possible to get you off on the right foot. :D

I can't see that bonnet badge on eBay, and I hear that Elan ones are an odd size so watch out. But The seller of this item would be worth asking for one, as he's been breakking a couple of Elans recently. Check my recent posts for his contact details.
