Always fancied going over and having a casual drive round the ring. Anyone else up for it this summer?

Did it a few years back when living in Germany, but a Peugeot 205 Diesel with 4 adults doesn't really count! Highly recommended, in a scary sort of way.

You should all come to the anual Oldtimer Granprix, 2. week in August. It's a real show for all with interest for cars, and you can also have a spin on the old ring.

Lotus Klub Denmark use to have our own spot at the nereby campsite, and will be pleased to host you all.

Chris - will probably be going this year - will let you know when. I have a mate that owns a car out there so I normally tag along with him, but said I would like to take the Elan as I have driven the track and providing you are careful I reckon the Elan would be a good car to take round.

As much as i would love to go to 'The Ring' i dont think i can wangle 4+ days away from the missus :cry:

Could it be done in less time, say 2 days? or is that just being ridiculous? i guess it is, you need to enjoy some time there and not be rushing around.

Looks like i'll be visiting the lakes or Anglsey with me gray pal.

P.s.

There was a cracking article in EVO magazine a few months back, around 6 pages or so on how to tackle each corner, costs, places to stay etc.

Three is the smallest amount of time for a public day - one to get out there, one to get back and one on the ring. Problem is you don't want to rush this place - that'll get you killed and if the circuit is closed because of an accident you can loose anything from 20 mins to 2 or three hours.

i was thinking in terms of a long w/e. All i would like to do is drive, not in a track day way, the circuit i have seen on umpteen videos. Once i've seen and driven it i will almost certainly appreciate those videos more.

just done a mileage check to the ring - 750 miles from Glasgow!!!! 400 miles from west sussex. it is a fekking long way and for me it would rule out a w/e so think i would have to combine it with a tour for a week to make it viable
