Just a few quick updates. Ive had the grilles changed for gold ones, which has really transformed the car, & yes, ive got my seats back from lotus, they also did me some bespoke floormats. This might not be to everyones taste, but your comments are welcome ?

Wow. Lovely. For me, it's not too flashy. Love the grilles and the seats. Looks like it left the factory as a special edition. Good work. You must be very pleased.

Hear hear! Especialy the factory special edition bit.

Paul,

While looking at your new (and old) seats I've just had a thought - when the seats were re-trimmed, did Lotus keep the old covers?

I have been looking for a replacement grey/red cushion part of the passenger-side one in mine since I got it (Rod left a bottle of Rain-X on it one night, which fell over and ATE the leather)!

It wouldn't be quite so bad if it was the driver's side, because at least my bum would be on it, but the passenger side is usually empty, which means I have to look at it instead.

If you fancy recouping some costs, or if Lotus kept the old ones and there's a chance of getting them back, can you let me know?

Neil, ive got the old covers, which are all black ( no stripe ), with the perforated leather in the middle, believe this was a later SE & S2 option. They were promised to someone else ( ages ago ), if your interested, i will see if they still want them, & if not, will let you know. They are in good condition.

I think his old seats were knackered (half leather too)...

Oh, was looking at the post from Boxing Day half way down this page and could have sworn I saw a red stripe.

Never mind, I can continue to be patient. I don't want to give up the red striped interior - it's a design feature that I've loved since the Elans were first introduced.

If I'm feeling really adventurous I suppose I could always try taking the seats out to see if the driver and passenger cushion covers are interchangeable!

Thanks anyway.

That's the thing though Paul, it's bad enough to be noticeable (see pic), but not SO bad that a retrim is necessary. Especially one "just" to bring it back to standard. It would feel like a case of running to stand still, if you see what I mean. Anyway, sorry to hijack your thread - it was just meant to be a quick question, and the main subject is far more interesting!

No problem Neil, hopefully decals will be on this week, so should have some really good pics then. Not counting my chickens, but all looking good for Dony ?

The question is, should the blacks lead us there?
You and Costas could well be the class of the field.

Having said that, if the parking was arranged the same as last year then it would mean that you were stuck in the bottom left-hand corner.

Neil, got a long, long way to even get close to Costas, although don't think i'll be going down the engine route, ESM's chip's enough for me at the minute. The last year has cost me more than i dare think, so i think this year, is a year for pampering the missus & reflecting on future plans

Yep

Get 'em out of the way early so that we can get down to the real class acts!

:-D

Actually, thinking about it, I wouldn't want to follow Blacky - I know where the chassis came from! ;-)
