Another idea, what about having the numbers and dashes in blue so we don't have to buy coloured bulbs? or even have the black background as the original and have blue numbers and dashes?

I would be interested in an "off-white" but I have to be convinced that it
can be done without too much trouble.

Monty, i need about 20 people to get an order together & keep the costs down, & there doesn't appear to be that much interest at the minute, but i will contact them again & see if we can bring that figure down ?

G, they say they can do the fbt, but will need to get hold of some old dials to send to them so they can scan them, believe Monty's got a least one of them. If all else fails, i will take mine out after Dony.

Paul i`ve got all 3 :-D

Think the best thing is to get them down to 10 orders and maybe just do the FBT, they maybe happy to do it that way as i can`t see u getting an order for 20. We can just use there astra dial for the instrument.

light bulbs

Postby beegee » Sat 11.02.2006, 09:52

I kept the original gauges and just changed the bulbs in the back to blue led. Not the brightest of lights, but more than enough to see clearly, these are off the shelf "plug n play bulbs " no resistor needed.

For the small gauges I made up an led (blue)with resistor and replaced the white bulb. I will take a picture tonight so you can see the results.
Sorry phots are a little blurry

Ah, its been real hectic this last fortnight Monty, what with the car, rushed job on, & father-in-law taken in with cancer.
I will see if they can reduce the numbers needed, & also if they will just do the FBT, bear with me on this, i will try & sort something.

Ah, what the hell, if the price is right.....

What colours are we anticipating? An off-white with blue letterings(?) would be first choice.

Would have to be all dials though, not just the FBT.
