sounds interesting......got some wolfrace alloys on my 67 that need this treatment!!!

nitroman thanks for the link but I was following johns thread for something here in the UK rather than the US.....dont suppose you know who does it over here??
also the paint shown doesnt quite live up to the chrome finish as it quotes '30% as reflective as a mirror' and 'can vaguely see yourself in it'

was hoping for something abit like the hot jet coat stuff thats been mentioned elsewhere...(need to find it but again was in the US rather than the UK)

Have a look at the attached. What would a Lotus Elan look like sprayed
in Chrome Paint.? :-D

Contact CHROMA PART on 07771 782336 or 07974847480. I am having a set of 16inch wheels done . They spray them in gloss black first. There is a video on their web site to show how it is done.

Go to the links page at CHROME PAINT .com and ask for "DAVE" or telephone 07974 847 480 for details of the "New Company" that has taken over. Picture of alloy wheel attached. I am buying the paint trade as I have an NVQ in "Vehicle and Paint" spraying and access to a HVLP air brush system for "art work"

chrisP, I've an interest in these parts. I'd love to see an Elan with a bit more chrome in the interior to "modernize" it a bit. If they are reasonable and with a really good "finished" look to them, I might think about a pair if you are going to make a few. Please let me know. Thanks.

I think he recommends a lump of aluminum and a file, but perhaps he has seen the light of a small run of repetitive injurious creationism . . .

don't forget the matching rings for the top 3 gauges too, Blair

HA! Doug, you're too funny. I already had a look into those! You've been busy reading my mind again. I love the idea of adding a bit of chrome (or stainless or aluminum) accents to the interior. As for the rings, unfortunately, it seems they won't ship outside of the UK. Anyone have any ideas how I can get a set (2 is recommended) of those chrome instrument dial rings??????

P.S. Chris,

I think that aluminum door handles would be a perfect match for what you've done. Especially set against the dark plastic of the escutcheon.

My accord has this setup (chrome/alu against black) and it does look good, bit of bling without being overpowering.

Thanks for your comments; I'm still looking into casting these parts instead of carving them out of solid billet. Unfortunately the Elans cylinder rebuild has got in the way. If I manage to get a good quality part made I'll be in touch

No problem. I'll be interested in seeing how you make out with a "mass produced" version. Those parts, the door handle and some seat protectors would be a fantastic combination!

do you still have your original handles??.....
I was just wondering about going a slightly different route of getting them scanned in as 3D then just stick the file into a cnc machine and there you go....
I might be able to get a 3D scan done but I dont (as yet) know anyone with a 'digital' cnc machine.....
what do you reckon?????
