I ordered a set of front lenses, fitted them on my white car- they do look nice! Will post piccies once I take her out of the garage for the season. Almost hit 60 degrees F today- getting close to the right weather once the sand and salt is swept up!
Thanks Paul- and thanks to Richard at Protocast.

Hi Mate,
Glad it worked out ok for you. 60 degF isn't exactly summer, but its 0 degC here so i would be happy with your temp right now
Richard will be at the Show Saturday and will be bringing some sets with him for sale.
Cheers

I believe that we can't use the LEC stand for officially selling stuff.
HOWEVER -
If there was a set of samples there for people to see, and if you and Richard made yourselves known to the people on the stand (or left a mobile number), then I'm sure that the interest generated would guarantee a few "Donington related" sales.

Well i will be at the Services and later in the parking area, if people like the clear indicators either front or rears, they could contact Richard after the show.
Good Plan though.

Sides and fronts done - now just the rears to do to complete the full set!
Very pleased - they make the whole car look more modern.
Thanks for your efforts Paul.

Hi Guys,
Nice one. Im glad the sales went well at Donington! Just wished i had drafted a contract with Richard. lol
I have to say its been a pleasure working with him, and although the R&D is finished im sure we will keep in touch.
I still would have prefered just to buy a set like you lot but i guess some has to get the ball rolling.
The wife seems to be using the Elan a fair bit since going to the Show, i think it really showed her hoow many people love their Elans
Cheers

Paul, as a proud owner of the clear lenses (purchased and fitted at Donni)I would like to thank you for your efforts in making it all possible.
Timmo, hope you had a "clear" run home.

Did you resolve the sellotape issues yet?

Very much so!
I removed all of the corroded screws which involved taking off the front bumper.
This allowed me to secure and repaint the grilles, sand and paint the towing eye, correct the bumper alignment, and replace the rusty screws with nice stainless allen-head ones. No more problems for me in that department!

A little off topic but I picked up a set of Rover clear side indicators, went to fit them this morning, expecting a 2 min job and found that the current ones are sealed/glued in place.
As this is a many treaded path, I thought I would ask the following questions:
1. Is this standard, Tony mentioned he had the same?
2. Any advice or tips on decent access? e.g. does the wing come off easily?
3. Any advice or tips on removing the seal without damaging the panel?
4. Should my new ones just clip in (as design) or will they need to be sealed too?
Thanks

Ailwyn,
1. Yes
2. Open the door, you can see the back with adhesive on it
3. Use a careful combination of blunt screwdriver, sharp knife and wiggle it about (ooer

) to break away the adhesive from lense back, wiring and wing
4. Mine didn't clip, so sealant was necessary. Remember the drain hole position should face down. Prepare for scraped knuckles. Well worth the effort.
Hope this helps

Shame it's such a dull day today, these pics certainly do do the finished effect justice.
Can't wait til we get some sun, then the new rear lenses will look brilliant!
I found it to be a very easy job - it only took about an hour and a half. The little lugs that hold on the original orange lenses can be either broken or melted through with the tip of a soldering iron. But you need araldite to finish the job properly.

Good Job Mate.
Better get used to mine not being the only fully orange lense free car in the world!
It was the first though
Ps sounds a bit OTT with removing the front bumper just to change the front Lenses! lol
Cheers

Suppose I'll have to order the front clear-lenses & put back on the black/silver nose badge I removed from the red car. Just seems the thing to do on a white car.

Matt-
It is kind of hard to tell b/c of the smudge that I did not notice on my camera lens until AFTER taking and downloading pictures- but yes, the clears work really well for a white car.
Protocast also talked about changing the side (yellow front/red rear) lights/reflectors on the Fed version to clears as well, but I need to look into that further...
