Gromit,

You can buy them on the day (but they're a pound more IIRC)

Ok to all those who showed interest in doing a convoy from the south you should have pm.

Otherwise here is a copy, pm me if you have any problems (related to the convoy (better put that cos i know what you lot are like :D .))

Cheers Chris

OK fellow Elaners here is the plan.

We will aim to be up at the Donington Services to RV with the main convoy for 0845. This will give us some chat/toilet time and allow for the convoy to be organised ready for the off. All the following calculations have been worked out using Autoroute but have also taken into account the roadworks between J20&21 on the M1.

Now this is the tricky part, what i plan is to meet on the roll. I have already agreed this with Gazza and Avonvilla at around J8 on the M1. Obviously this all depends on timing and the strength of our mobile phone signals. The advantages are that nobody has to go far out of their way to RV making an even earlier start. But it does all rely on communication and being on time!!

I shall be coming up from West Sussex and will be travelling on the M25 clockwise past Heathrow.

First RVP Stationary meet
Time: 0620
Meet: Gromit
Location: Guildford (Ladymead Bypass)

Second RVP Rolling meet
Time: 0640
Meet: MattS
Location: M25 J11

Third RVP Rolling meet
Time: 0710
Meet: timmo
Location: M25 J17

Fourth RVP Rolling meet
Time: 0720
Meet: Gazza, Avonvilla, pjohn151
Location: M1 J8

pjohn151 you might prefer J9??

What i suggest is getting to the RVP in good time. I will phone you when i am about 10 minutes away. That is your cue to get onto the motorway and tootle along at about 50 until we catch you up. Now is this going to work emmmmm should do as long as you're at the right place at the right time!

Gromit can you contact me to arrange the exact RVP cos i have only guessed that Guildford would be ok with you.

Gazza, Avonvilla, pjohn151 there is a Holiday Inn at J8 on the A414 which you could all meet at - i'll leave you to arrange that between you.

OK now what if it all goes wrong. Well we need a fallback position and that will be meeting up with Gazza, Avonvilla, pjohn151 which as i suggest might be at the Holiday Inn. We will need to leave there no later than 0725.

Holiday Inn

You will need to provide me with your mobile no so that i can contact you. My number is 07941090317. You should be able to get a mobile signal next to the M25 - I hope!!!

Cheers Chris

PS If you want to meet at the Runnymede like last year that's ok with me

Thanks for organising this again Chris. Same time next year?

So who was in the Silk red Elan that I met somewhere around J8-10 of the M25? The first Elan I was expecting to see was the bright yellow of Chris at J11??

It was me as a late entry, and managed to get my son out of his elise to go as well. If you met me before Juction 11 I was probably driving on auto pilot as I did not know another Elan was around untill I saw you just about to overtake after junction 11. Only bought the elan 6 months ago and was good to see so many in one place. Donington car park was a bit nippy or am I being a wimp?

And I agree, thanks Chris and I will try to not leave it so late next time
